Apple no longer signing iOS 12.3-12.3.2, hindering downgrades from iOS 12.4

Apple is no longer signing iOS 12.3, 12.3.1, or 12.3.2 for its mobile device lineup as of Wednesday evening, a move that prevents users from restoring to any firmware version older than iOS 12.4, which was released to the general public just last Monday.

It’s not uncommon for Apple to stop signing older versions of iOS, especially a week or two after releasing a new update, but it’s particularly noteworthy that Apple stopped signing at least three iterations of iOS in one fell swoop this week, which doesn’t happen too often.

On the other hand, this beautiful charging interface often left me wondering: why hasn’t Apple implemented a similar charging interface for other devices?

Pwn20wnd says he’s almost done implementing Substitute support into unc0ver

If you have an iOS 12 device and you’re looking to jailbreak it, then you have two potential options at your disposal: Chimera by the Electra Team and unc0ver by Pwn20wnd. Both can jailbreak iOS 12.0-12.3 beta, but the latter is particularly limited on A12(X) devices because Cydia Substrate has not (and will not) be updated to work on them.

The Electra Team’s Chimera jailbreak works painlessly on A12(X) handsets because it uses an implementation of Substitute instead of Cydia Substrate. This was perhaps one of the single most compelling reasons to use Chimera at the time, but as you might recall, Pwn20wnd was working to implement Substitute into the unc0ver jailbreak, at least for A12(X) devices.

Mute specific apps for certain periods of time with QuietDown

Notifications can be useful, but some apps tend to be a little bit noisier than others. iOS’ native Do Not Disturb mode sometimes comes in handy in this instance, but it mutes all your apps at the same time, and this isn’t always ideal. For that reason, iOS developer Skitty has come out with a new free jailbreak tweak release called QuietDown.

QuietDown allows users to mute specific apps for certain periods, and it does so in such a user-friendly manner. With a simple swipe up on an application icon or a 3D Touch gesture on that same icon, you can bring up the muting interface shown above.
