iPhone Gaming Costs UK Businesses £800 Million, or $1.3 Billion a Year

We love studies here at iDB, especially when they result in entirely meaningless numbers that are almost guaranteed to get traction. Studies like this one, for example.

UK firm iBingo has questioned just 2,000 iPhone owners about their working habits, and in particular, how much gaming they do during working hours. Turns out, they all 'fessed up to playing games on their iPhones for around one hour a day. From there, iBingo took the numbers and ran with them, and have since made some bold claims based on those 2,000 users...

Chillingo has quite a variety of games in the App Store. It looks like their newest game, Contre Jour, may soon be the staple title for those looking for something more than a casual gaming experience.

This gorgeously designed puzzle game ups the App Store anty for creativity and artistry in game development, and it does so in a simply designed game that it makes you wonder if other devs are sleeping on the job.

Contre Jour welcomes players to a dream-like, animated world of inky darkness and beautiful aesthetic.  In the game, it’s your job to help a mysterious little fellow called Petit...

Remember that Atari-branded iPad arcade joystick peripheral we told you about yesterday? Remember how excited we were about the possibility of playing our classic arcade games on the thing, despite our lack of any real information about the device? Well, it turns out DVICE has played with the real thing, and all of a sudden, we're not quite as excited as we were yesterday!

Atari to Introduce Official iPad Arcade Controller

In an update to the Atari's Greatest Hits iOS app, the evergreen gaming company has included support for an unannounced arcade stick. The "Atari Arcade -- Duo Powered" joystick will be offered to the public soon for insanely addictive gaming on iPads everywhere.

The app's description links to a web page that shows a photo of the mystery device, along with a short description which doesn't really tell us all that much. The picture is enough for us to know we need this thing in our lives...

Play App Store Games on the Apple TV with Joypad

So far, Apple has missed a huge opportunity for gaming on the Apple TV. Short of a jailbreak and third party firmware, it's nearly impossible to do anything but stream and play back media on the set-top box.

The App Store is home to thousands of awesome games, and a new iOS app lets you play games on your Apple TV by turning your iDevice into NES-like controller...

Help Make this Cool iOS Jailbreak Game

It's a rare occasion that we stumble across a good game in Cydia, so it caught our eye when iEnthusiast mentioned that developer "ntrfc0" is working on a Zelda-themed iOS game for jailbreakers.

He has good ideas for the game, but he needs help from the community...
