Asus insults Apple users: you’re ‘out of your mind’ to buy Apple Watch Edition

I usually don't cover companies tweeting about other companies' products, but this particular tweet posted by the official Asus account may have gone too far in belittling Apple customers.

Commenting on the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition, which CEO Tim Cook revealed will start at $10,000 during Monday's “Spring Forward” media event, Asus basically called those looking to buy the device crazy.

“You are really out of your mind” if you buy a gold Apple Watch, reads infographic attached to Asus' tweet...

Twelve South unveils $50 HiRise charging stand for Apple Watch, arriving in May

Twelve South, a premium and Apple-exclusive accessory maker, on Wednesday announced a version of its HiRise charging stand for the Apple Watch, which is scheduled to hit store shelves on April 24.

The HiRise for the Apple Watch docks your smarwatch while accommodating all of the official bands from Apple. The stand will be launching in May, priced at fifty bucks a pop.

It will be offered in silver and black finishes. The company has yet to announce pre-orders for the accessory.

Here’s how to tell which Apple Watch case size is for you

Following word on Apple Watch pricing on Monday, you may be asking yourself: Which Apple Watch case is best for me? Apple is offering two different size cases - 38mm and 42mm - and which case you choose could have an effect on comfort, price, and looks.

Luckily, Apple has updated its Apple Store iOS app with a sizing chart to help you make the decision. Using actual size images, it's as easy as placing your iPhone on your wrist to see which Watch looks, and works, the best.

Apple tweaking Reserve and Pickup options for Watch’s April 24 launch

Apple's retail stores will be rolling out tweaked Reserve and Pickup options ahead of the Watch's April 24 launch, according to unnamed sources who spoke with 9to5Mac. The experience will reportedly differ from the existing system for other products in that Personal Pickup for the wearable device will permit prospective buyers to reserve a desired case and band combination online before trying the specific Watch in-store and completing the purchase.

Poll: which Apple Watch are you?

Now that Apple has divulged fresh details concerning its first wrist-worn device, watchful bloggers (sorry about the pun) are now chewing on Watch news.

Disregarding for a moment the dizzying array of bands at one's disposal, the Apple Watch lineup is comprised of three different cases, provided in two sizes each. This makes choosing one which will fit your lifestyle not as straightforward as buying a new iPhone.

Now that the most crucial piece of information has been publicized — the full Watch pricing lineup — we're eager to learn which model you, our loyal readers, might opt for.

The complete list of Apple Watch prices

If you're planning on buying one of Apple's Watches, be prepared to spend a significant amount of time on research due to the dizzying array of price points based on the different models, sizes and bands.

Choosing between the Apple Watch models and two sizes is the easy part.

But the rich choice of bands and the fact that not every band is offered across all Watch models and sizes makes choosing a combination that suits your tastes and — more importantly — fits your budget something of a mind job.

To help you make sense of a total of forty different sales combinations, we've put together a handy price list based on the confirmed models, sizes and bands.

Apple’s ‘Spring Forward’ keynote video posted to iTunes as downloadable podcast

Following yesterday's “Spring Forward” media event which brought us new Apple Watch details and pricing, an exclusive HBO Now launch on the now-discounted Apple TV, some interesting medical research news and a Retina-enabled twelve-inch MacBook with USB-Type C, Force Touch trackpad and silver, space grey and gold finishes, now the whole presentation can be downloaded and kept on your computer in the form of a video podcast.

Apple Watch allows 2GB of music and 75MB of photos, all models have 8GB of storage

All three editions of the Apple Watch have eight gigabytes of storage, but the operating system is limiting users to a subsection of that total space for certain types of data, such as up to two gigabytes of music and up to 75 megabytes worth of photographs for the Photos app. As confirmed with Apple by 9to5Mac, shipping units of the Sport, Watch and Edition models have the same 8GB memory capacity.

Apple confirms Watch battery is replaceable

Although Apple did not mention it during yesterday's “Spring Forward” media event, the Apple Watch has a completely replaceable battery, an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch.

That's about all we know as the publication couldn't determine how much it will cost to send in your Watch to Apple and have it returned with a new battery in place.

These are some of the Apple Watch apps you will be able to download on launch day

Now that the cat is truly out of the bag in regards to the Apple Watch, attention can finally turn to what we will be doing with the thing once we get it onto our wrist. Apple has updated its website to showcase its own in-house apps such as Messages, Maps and Mail. Beyond the Apple apps that we will be using day in, day out, it's the apps that third-party developers create that will really decide whether the Apple Watch is a hit or a miss.

Apple knows this as much as anybody, which is why it has also pushed a new web page to its site that covers some of the biggest apps that we will probably be downloading come April 24th.

The number of apps that Apple has given some exposure to is quite large, so instead of going through them all here we're going to highlight some of the apps that we are particularly looking forward to or just simply think look awesome. There are more on the way too, with developers working hard to be on the App Store come day one.
