Apple challenges U.S. Apple Watch owners to bag a special Thanksgiving Day Activity achievement

Apple has issued a special challenge to U.S.-based owners of the Apple Watch on Monday, inviting them to walk, run or wheelchair a workout distance of at least 3.1 miles, or 5 kilometers, this Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 24. Those who successfully complete the challenge shall be awarded a special Thanksgiving-themed Activity achievement.

And to let you brag about your completed challenge and earned achievement, Apple will also unlock a special iMessage sticker which you can send to friends via Messages.

Apple seeds watchOS 3.1.1 beta 3 to developers

Apple on Tuesday seeded the third beta of watchOS 3.1.1 to developers. The update comes just over a week after beta 2, and it can be installed by registered developers via the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General -> Software Update.

TOMS introduces new Apple Watch bands

Popular shoe and apparel company TOMS has introduced two new lines of Apple Watch bands. The two lines are the Utility Collection and the Artisan Collection, and are priced at $50 and $75 respectively.

Utility bands come in 6 colorways and feature premium, durable grosgrain fabric and genuine leather detailing. The Artisan bands come in just 4 colors and feature woven fabric and genuine leather backing.

Surenix releases Power 2, an iPhone battery life companion app for Apple Watch

Thientam Bach, better known by a large amount of the jailbreak community as Surenix for his design work on high-end themes and jailbreak tweaks, released his first app in the App Store last year called Power.

It was essentially an information-based app that showed data about your iPhone's battery level on your Apple Watch at a glance. But because so much has changed in iOS 10 and watchOS 3, Bach has released Power 2 in the App Store on Thursday with new features and support for the latest operating systems.

If early impressions are an indication, the Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro is definitely not a gimmick. The time-saving feature lets you accomplish common tasks faster without needing to memorize a bunch of app-specific keyboard shortcuts.

Instead or remembering a shortcut or wasting time finding it in the menus, you just touch one of the system-wide or app-specific icons that are displayed on the Touch Bar.

For the hardware geeks among us, the more interesting aspect of the Touch Bar is the Apple-designed silicon behind it, dubbed the T1. As developer Steven Troughton-Smith has discovered, the Touch Bar is actually a mini Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch Nike+ includes all of the hardware features of the Apple Watch Series 2 like a lot brighter screen, a faster CPU/GPU, built-in GPS and better waterproofing with swim tracking.
