Apple Stores gaining Mobile Try-On program for Apple Watch

As Apple continues to refine the shopping experience at its brick-and-mortar stores under the watchful eye of retail chief Angela Ahrendts, the company is now introducing a brand new retail initiative called Mobile Try-On.

As per 9to5Mac, Mobile Try-On encourages customers to try out Apple's wearable device by walking around the store with a demo unit on their wrist paired to an iPhone running the Apple Watch companion application.

Apple now selling third-party Watch accessories in its retail stores

Folks in the market for third-party Apple Watch accessories may want to keep an eye on their local Apple Stores. MacRumors has confirmed that the Cupertino company has begun carrying third-party Watch add-ons in at least some of its retail locations.

The first such accessory spotted in an Apple Store is ElevationLab's NightStand for Apple Watch. It's a simple, elegant stand, that costs $29.95 and it appears the company has partnered with Apple on product packaging and Sport band-matching colorways.

Apple Store app updated with support for gift cards

Apple on Tuesday pushed out an update to its Apple Store app, bringing the mobile client for its online store to version 3.4. The update adds support for making purchases using gift cards.

In the change log, Apple says "you can now make purchases with an Apple Store Gift Card. Use the built-in Camera to scan new Gift Cards, or import existing Gift Cards from the Passbook app.

Apple Store app updated with support for Touch ID, two-step verification

Apple posted an update on Thursday for its Apple Store app, bringing the app to version 3.3. The update brings about at least two significant improvements: support for Touch ID and Apple ID two-step verification.

Folks checking their Apple Watch orders frequently using the app will be happy to hear that you no longer have to input your password. You can now use Touch ID to access orders, Easy Pay receipts and reservations.

Standalone Apple Watch bands begin hitting select Apple retail stores

Standalone bands for the Apple Watch are now available across select brick-and-mortar Apple Stores in the United States, the United Kingdom and possibly elsewhere, according to latest reports.

As reported by Twitter user AppleRadar, an Apple Store in Miami is now carrying the Classic Buckle and the Sport Band in multiple colors, with additional bands likely arriving soon.

Apple Stores expected to begin carrying Apple Watch bands this week

You may soon be able to pickup new Apple Watch bands in-store, according to 9to5Mac. Citing an internal memo sent out to employees, the outlet reports that Apple Stores will soon start carrying limited quantities of bands for the just-released wearable.

Before you get too excited, the message indicates that a majority of the stock will be made up of Sport bands. Also, it sounds like much of the inventory is reserved for customers looking to swap their pre-bundled bands, and replacing worn out demo bands.

Dubai reportedly becoming home to world’s largest Apple Store this summer

A report Monday by the Khaleej Times says Apple will be opening the world's largest retail store in Dubai, the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with population of more than 2 million people.

In fact, not only will it file as the world's largest Apple Store, but also as UAE's very first Apple Store, too. Located at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates, the store is currently under construction and is expected to open doors to fans in August 2015. Dubai is a popular tourist destination known for its luxury goods market and high-profile shopping malls.

Apple offering online Personal Setup for new Apple Watch users

Apple on Thursday night began emailing Apple Watch pre-order customers (whose orders have already shipped), informing them that their wearable would be arriving soon and that they can get help setting it up in "the comfort of their own home."

The online "Personal Setup" service is essentially a video session in which you get instructions on setting up your Watch and an overview of key features. As with in-store Personal Setups, online sessions require you to schedule an appointment.

Apple Stores celebrating 2015 Earth Day with green adornments

Today is Earth Day and Apple Stores around the world are marking the occasion with revamped signage outside the brick-and-mortar locations featuring green leaves. Although the physical stores now rock logo leaves tinted in green, the Online Apple Store was unaffected as of this writing.

The Apple.com homepage is heavily promoting the company's green initiatives based on the updated 2015 Environmental Responsibility Report and an accompanying video entitled ‘Better Starts Here’, which highlights “significant progress” the company has made in terms of its commitment to preserving our environment during the 2014 fiscal year.

Angela Ahrendts addresses retail employees about Apple Watch launch

Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts sent out a video to Apple retail employees today, addressing concerns and questions regarding the Apple Watch and MacBook launches. In the video, posted by French site Mac4Ever, Ahrendts reiterates much of what was said in an internal memo that was sent out to employees last week.
