Best Buy sells almost as many iPhones as Apple’s retail stores

Back in 2008, Apple made the decision to allow Best Buy to carry and sell its beloved handset. And that choice is proving to be a fantastic one today as reports are coming in regarding the retailers' iPhone sales.

Citing a study from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, AllThingsD reported this morning that Best Buy outlets have been selling almost as many iPhones as Apple itself...

Microsoft sees Windows Phone passing the iPhone in China

Apparently China is a hot topic today in the smartphone world. Earlier, we reported that the country's Android and iOS device activations finally passed up those in the US. And now it looks like Microsoft wants in.

The company's chief executive officer for the greater China region, Simon Leung, told Bloomberg this morning that Windows Phone will surpass the iPhone in smartphone market share in China by 2016...

While the company's stock just closed at an all-time high this afternoon, Apple has just announced some staggering numbers. According to a press release just issued by the Cupertino-based company, it's sold 3 million iPads since its launch on Friday. Customers just couldn't wait to get their hands on the new Retina display glory.

Fifth Avenue Apple Store sold over 13,000 iPads in first 12 hours

Earlier today, both AT&T and Apple announced that they saw record-breaking iPad sales over the weekend. Neither company, however, gave any kind of specific sales figures.

So while everyone is speculating — we've heard it's well over a million — The Verge has gotten some ballpark estimates from the popular Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York City...

Analysts have already predicted the new iPad having a record weekend, perhaps selling over a million units of the new tablet. The new iPad out of Cupertino went on sale Friday, and while Apple hasn't sold out in its retail stores yet, demand for the new tablet is said to be high.
