Newly teased tfp0 bug supports iOS 13.3 and A12/A13 devices

Matrix code hacked iPhone.

It’s always exciting for the jailbreak community when someone comes forward with a brand-new bug that could potentially enable exploitation for jailbreaking newer devices and versions of iOS. After all, Apple tries very hard to keep iOS bug-free and quickly patches anything that even smells jailbreakable.

With that in mind, a newly-teased ‘tfp0’ bug shared first by @08Tc3wBB and later validated by security researcher @RazMashat would appear to be compatible with Apple’s latest and greatest iOS 13.3 firmware on handsets up to and including the A13 variety. Indeed; even the iPhone 11 Pro platform seems to be vulnerable:

Rogue DMCA takedowns wrongfully targeted the jailbreak community [updated]

It’s never a dull moment for the jailbreak community, and this week, the spotlight isn’t so much on jailbreak tool releases as it is on a series of baseless DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) take-downs that appear to be targeting jailbreak-oriented software and iOS security research.

All the hubbub began with a simple Tweet shared by respected community hacker @siguza, which contained an iPhone encryption key. This key was comprised of a long string of randomized letters and numbers and would have appeared as gibberish to most common folk. Shortly after the Tweet fell victim to one of these requests, threads on the popular /r/jailbreak subreddit regarding checkra1n and unc0ver became victimized by similar activity:

Supercharge aims to redefine tweaking on jailbroken & non-jailbroken devices

Tweaking your iOS device may soon become significantly easier with the introduction of an exceptionally captivating project dubbed Supercharge led by iOS developer Kabir Oberai and designer Alessandro Chiarlitti, and contributed to by others.

Supercharge aims to become a platform that will make the process of tweaking your iPhone or iPad easier, whether you’re jailbroken or not. Moreover, users will be able to share their works with other Supercharge users.

Unc0ver jailbreak updated to v3.7.0 beta 4 with minor changes

Despite all the hype surrounding the checkra1n jailbreak in recent memory, hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd is reminding everyone that he’s still around with a new public beta release of his renowned iOS 11 and 12-centric jailbreak tool Monday evening.

Pwn20wnd didn’t share any status updates on Twitter about the new unc0ver public beta v3.7.0 beta 4, and perhaps unsurprisingly, that’s because this appears to be a relatively minor update dealing with Cydia and tweak injection methods.

Understanding untethered, semi-untethered, semi-tethered, and tethered jailbreaks

If you’ve been poking around in the jailbreak community for as long as I have, then you’ve undoubtedly witnessed a plethora of different jailbreak types. Among the most popular in this community are untethered, semi-untethered, semi-tethered, and tethered, each of which exhibit different attributes that every jailbreaker should be aware of.

We understand that some are new to jailbreaking, but even those who’ve been around as long as I have might have some confusion between the different types. For this reason, we’ve compiled a quick guide to help everyone understand what each of these different jailbreaks are and how they behave.

Bring useful iPad features to the iPhone with ipadify

If you’ve ever used an iPad before, then you should already know that it sports handy capabilities that can’t be had on the iPhone or iPod touch — at least not on a stock device, that is.

With the help of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called ipadify by iOS developer Guilherme Rambo, you can port several of the iPad’s premier features to smaller handsets, including native picture-in-picture video viewing and the ability to side-load iPad-only applications like Photoshop.

Trouble jailbreaking with checkra1n? Try this…

If you’re anything like me, then you’re ecstatic about the release of the checkra1n jailbreak. It’s an exciting development that utilizes @axi0mX’s checkm8 bootrom exploit to facilitate software liberation on handsets ranging from the iPhone 5s to the iPhone X. Moreover, it’s the first public jailbreak to support iOS 13.

But it’s difficult to ignore the elephant in the room here, and that’s the sheer number of public beta testers that have reported challenges getting into DFU mode and jailbreaking, citing common issues such as Error-20 and failure to boot jailbroken.

Checkra1n tv jailbreak now available for the Apple TV (4th Generation)

Much of this past week’s news has been all about the newfangled checkra1n jailbreak for certain iOS devices affected by the checkm8 bootrom exploit, but was anyone wondering about the progress on support for Apple TV? If you answered ‘yes’ to that question, then wonder no longer.

It would now seem that an official fork of the checkra1n jailbreak tool dubbed checkra1n tv was soft released as a public beta on the checkra1n team’s official website Wednesday evening. The news was shared first by Apple TV jailbreak mastermind @nitoTV on Twitter:
