Command & Conquer: Generals Deluxe Edition hits Mac App Store with 5K Retina graphics support

One of the finest real-time strategy games ever, Command & Conquer: Generals, and its standalone expansion pack, Zero Hour, are now available in one single package on the Mac App Store.

Priced at just twenty bucks, Command & Conquer: Generals Deluxe Edition includes the aforementioned classic real-time strategy games which have been updated to run on modern Macs.

Both games include local and online multiplayer, native support for up to 5K Retina resolution on the latest 27-inch iMac, gesture support for Mac notebook users and other perks.

Gameloft releases Dungeon Hunter 5

Last night, French games maker Gameloft released Dungeon Hunter 5, a new installment in its Diablo-like mobile RPG series. Previewed back in January, the iPhone and iPad hack ‘n’ slash game features single-player campaign through five realms and numerous dungeons.

If you'd rather play with friends, you can enjoy action in co-operative gameplay mode, engage in daily and weekly events or challenge friends in asynchronous multiplayer.

Sid Meier’s Starships launches for iPad and Mac

Announced back in January, Sid Meier's Starships, an interstellar companion to Civilization: Beyond Earth, launched Thursday for the iPad and Mac.

Available in the App Store and Steam for fifteen bucks each, the premium strategy game published by Firaxis and 2K Games has you assuming command of a starship fleet.

Crescent Moon Games launches Paper Monsters Recut on iOS

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath launches on Mac

Following its debut on the iOS platform back in November 2014, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath has now launched on OS X and includes syncing your game progress through iCloud with its iPhone and iPad counterpart.

Cold War holds true to the popular flight simulator franchise, providing console-quality gameplay on the go. You can choose from over 12 beautiful planes to pilot, and participate in a variety of single-player and multiplayer game modes.

Amazon Game Studios announces four new mobile games coming to iOS platform

Amazon Game Studios, a games-publishing arm of the online retail giant, announced it will soon be bringing four new iPhone and iPad games to the iOS platform.

“We’re excited to share that two new games, Lost Within and Til Morning’s Light along with customer favorites Tales From Deep Space and To-Fu Fury, will be coming soon to iOS and more Fire devices,” said the studio in a media release Friday.

Apple names Temple Run: Oz its new Free App of the Week

The exhilarating sequel to the classic endless runner with a Disney movie tie-in throw in for good measure, Temple Run: Oz is now available at no cost until next Thursday as part of Apple's ongoing Free App of the Week promotion.

Released precisely on this day a year ago, this marks the first time Temple Run: Oz has been marked down to zero bucks on the App Store (regularly $1.99).

The game is based on the 2013 film 'Oz the Great and Powerful' and features the same great gameplay as the original infinite runner, with an Oz twist to it.

5 new indie iPhone and iPad games worth playing

Like any Thursday, last evening the App Store was refreshed with a myriad of new game releases. Rather than highlight juicy games like Real Steel Champions, Warhammer: Snotling Fling and other new arrivals from big name publishers, this time around I've decided to do something entirely different.

Therefore: introducing a list of new game releases by independent publishers that I think deserve additional exposure and your attention.

Without further ado, here are five indie games that I think you should definitely check out and hopefully put on your Home screen.

Asphalt 8 gains car decals, new Ferraris and car collections, revamped garage and more

This morning, French games maker and publisher Gameloft pushed out an update to Asphalt 8: Airborne, its arcade-y racer for the iPhone and iPad.

The download brings out car decals (the most requested feature) and five new Ferrari sports cars that Gameloft says you'll be able to drive “soon”. On top of that, the garage has been redesigned from the ground up and there are new car collections to enjoy now.

The update is available now on iOS and is coming soon on Android and Windows 8.

Popular golf arcade game ‘Golden Tee’ coming to iOS this summer

Golden Tee fans rejoice, Incredible Technologies is bringing the popular arcade golf game to iOS this year. As noted by TouchArcade, the team has been quietly showing off a demo version of the game at this year's Game Developers Conference (or GDC).

For those of you not familiar with Golden Tee, it's the golf game you've seen in the corner of virtually every bar ever. It's an in-depth golf game with beautiful graphics, easy-to-learn controls and the arcade version utilizes a track ball for swing/ball direction.
