watchOS 2.2 preview: Pairing more than one Apple Watch and Maps app improvements [video + screenshots]

Along with the release of iOS 9.3 beta 1 and tvOS 9.2 beta 1, watchOS 2.2 was seeded to developers. watchOS 2.2 isn't filled with nearly as many features as the aforementioned software for the Apple TV and iPhone, but it does contain a major new feature that will make a specific group of Apple Watch owners happy.

Beginning with watchOS 2.2 and iOS 9.3, users can now pair more than one Apple Watch to a single iPhone. Once paired, you can easily switch between them as the need occurs. Have a look at our full video preview for a demonstration of the pairing process in action.

Apple seeds watchOS 2.2 to developers

Along with iOS 9.3, Apple has also seeded watchOS 2.2 to developers. watchOS 2.2 is a significant release, because it is the first software release for the Apple Watch that allows users to pair multiple Apple Watches to a single iPhone. Granted, the iPhone must be running iOS 9.3, which is only available to developers at the time, but it paints a positive picture for the future.

How to use the Apple Watch to answer incoming calls on iPhone

When an incoming call arrives on your Apple Watch, there are a couple of options that aren't readily noticeable. By scrolling up with the Digital Crown, you'll unveil two additional options for handling the incoming call: Send a Message and Answer on iPhone.

The Send a Message option works very much like the Message option on the iPhone, while the Answer on iPhone option will send the call to your iPhone, and place the call on hold until you're ready to answer it.

You will soon be able to buy a Milanese Loop band in gorgeous Space Black finish to complement your Space Black stainless steel Apple Watch case. Apple prematurely leaks exclusive Apple Watch Sport models for Chinese New Year

Apple will sell some new, exclusive Apple Watch Sport designs to celebrate the Chinese New Year, MacRumors said Tuesday. As evidenced by Apple's websites in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan, the new models of the Apple Watch Sport will be available in the aforementioned countries until February 22.

That information was briefly available on the website before being removed earlier today. With a rumored Apple Watch 2 media event planned for March, Apple is likely to roll out additional bands to accompany the launch of a second-generation Apple Watch.

Griffin introduces handy new Travel Power Bank for Apple Watch

Griffin on Monday added to the stack of CES product announcements by introducing the Travel Power Bank for Apple Watch. As you can see in the photo, the accessory is essentially a tiny battery pack with an inductive charging pad for Apple's wearable.

Griffin says that the built-in battery is of the 800 mAh variety, which is good enough to fully recharge the Apple Watch up to four times before needing more power for itself. That's not too shabby for a device that is so small it can be attached to a keychain.

Apple’s Kevin Lynch talks Apple Watch timekeeping, says it’s far more accurate than iPhone

Apple VP of Technology Kevin Lynch spoke with Mashable on Wednesday, touting the Apple Watch's ability to keep precise time. Lynch told the publication that the Watch is far more accurate as a timekeeping device than the iPhone—four times better to be exact.

"With New Year’s coming, those who have the Apple Watch will be the most accurate watch in the room... There will be no question about when New Year's Eve actually is now." The VP went on to explain the various features in the Watch that help make it so accurate.

I didn't think I'd see a better deal for the Apple Watch this year than I've seen thus far, but I stand corrected. B&H Photo is offering some crazy deals for potential Apple Watch customers.

If you act fast, you can score an Apple Watch stainless steel model for $70 off retail price along with a $100 B&H gift card. That's essentially $170 worth of free money for buying an Apple Watch.

But it doesn't just stop there, potential Apple Watch Sport customers can get in on the fun as well. You can score $50 off the Apple Watch Sport along with a $50 B&H Photo gift card.

To top all of this off, there's no tax assessed for most customers, as tax only applies for customers living in New York state. Yes, these deals are crazy, but they won't last long...

Apple Watch Sport goes on sale at Walmart

Best Buy, Target, and now...Walmart. Apple Watch is pretty much ubiquitous these days when it comes to American retail stores, and the addition of Walmart as an official retailer is just icing on the cake.

Granted, Apple Watch sales at Walmart are quite limited, with only the Sport model being offered, and further limitations have been placed on available colors.

Nonetheless, having the Apple Watch, in any incarnation, is a big deal and a big win for Apple and potential customers. It turns the visibility level of the popular wearable all the way to level 11.

GoPro releases companion Apple Watch app

I hope for your own sake that you're not one of those irresponsible guys who can be seen interacting with GoPro's mobile app on their smartphone while skating, parachuting or cycling. If you are, however, you might want to download GoPro's latest iPhone app which now includes a native Apple Watch app that lets you start and stop recording with a simple tap on your wrist.

Less time spent starring at the smartphone screen gives you more time to avoid those obstacles. What do you mean, you don't skate?
