Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 4 With RedSn0w

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 4 yesterday to developers, and the Dev-Team has already released an update to the jailbreak tool RedSn0w for a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5 Beta 4.

This jailbreak is not recommended for non-developers, and RedSn0w will need to be used each time you reboot to re-jailbreak your iDevice.

Apple Planning Big Things for the iPhone in China

The iPhone's presence in China is about to get supercharged, thanks to an alleged agreement between the nation's largest carrier, China Mobile, and the folks at Cupertino. The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple and China Mobile are "getting closer" to an iPhone deal for the carrier's 600+ million wireless customers.

Once China Mobile joins China Telecom and China Unicom as the third carrier to offer the iPhone in the world's most populated nation, we're sure Apple will start bringing in international profit but the truckloads...

iOS 5 Beta 4 Blocks Jailbreakers From OTA Updates

In case you missed the news, Apple seeded iOS 5 beta 4 to developers yesterday. The new software brings loads of bug fixes and minor updates, and it also introduced a major new feature. Today's beta was the first firmware update that Apple's pushed to devs over-the-air.

Although things got off to a rocky start, a majority of the folks guinea-pigging the OTA updates seemed to be happy with the end result. However, if you have a jailbroken iDevice and tried updating to the new iOS 5 software, it was probably a different story...

App Store Now Available in 33 More Countries

Do you live in Azerbaijan, Brunei, or Uzbekistan and have you been wanting to download apps from the App Store? Now is your time to rejoice, because Apple just opened the App Store to 33 more countries, and yours is one of those.

With the expansion of the App Store to 33 new territories, Apple is widening its market a little more. New countries include:

iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 Now Available for Download [Updated]

Along with the release of iOS 5 beta 4, Apple has also released iTunes 10.5 Beta 4. For some reason, everytime I connect my iPad 2 running iOS 5 Beta 3, I get an error message telling me that my iPad couldn't be synced with this version of iTunes because its software is too old.

What do you mean by "too old," iTunes? This iOS version is not even 2 weeks old. Maybe it just wants me to do an OTA update, but this is also a problem as it appears my iOS Beta 4 OTA download got stuck (and I'm not the only one having this issue)...

Apple Seeds iOS 5 Beta 4 to Developers, Brings Over-the-Air Updates

Apple just pushed out the latest beta of their upcoming iOS 5 software to developers ahead of schedule. Apple released the first beta on June 6th, the second on Jun 24, and the third on July 11th.

This new smaller timeframe suggests that this is more of an incremental upgrade, but we've already noticed a major difference from previous beta versions. Beta 4 is available over-the-air...

Lodsys Attacks Angry Birds and Others in More Lawsuits

The legal team over at Lodsys doesn't seem to have been phased at all by Apple's cease and desist letter, or attempt to intervene in the patent dispute. Not only is the company not backing down, they've actually upped the ante.

FOSSPatents reported yesterday that Lodsys has amended its patent complaint and modified the list of defendants. 5 new companies were added to Lodsys' infringement case, including Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive, Atari, Square Enix and Rovio- the makers of Angry Birds...

iPhone 5 to Launch on September 5 in US, October 5 Internationally?

We have heard several rumors about Apple's next smartphone. What it'll look like, what kind of hardware it'll house, and even who will offer  it. We've also heard a lot of speculation regarding the device's launch date.

We've been hearing gossip since as far back as April suggesting a September release for the next iPhone, and iPhoneItalia seems to confirm that further with leaked information from a wireless carrier...

iPad Top Dog in Enterprise, Android Metaphorical Kitten

In a market that was once dominated by RIM and CrackBerry smartphones, Apple is fast becoming the provider of choice for businesses, according to a new report.

With RIM suffering somewhat of a downturn in sales, Apple's iPhone and iPad are filling the void, with Android currently a smaller player in the world of power ties and pinstripe suits. Apple's iPad is doing so well, in fact, that it made up 95% of tablet activations in the enterprise for the months of March through June of this year, with Android tablets making up just 3.1%...

Next iPod Touch to Come in White?

Photos leaked to 9to5Mac point to Apple bringing a spot of white to its next gen iPod touch, with the 5th generation of the popular 'iPhone-lite' set to receive the same white glass as the iconic iPhone 4.

The photos, which 9to5Mac says are not yet confirmed to be either legit or, well, not so legit, show what appears to be a white iPod touch's front screen.

The part appears to be similar in design to the current 4th generation model of the iPod touch, lending credence to rumors that the next incarnation of the device will sport a design not too dissimilar from its current form....
