MyMobileTube Pro is Anything But Professional

This ranks up there with one of the worst Cydia purchases I've ever made. MyMobileTube Pro sounds like it's a professional app, but that couldn't be anything further from the truth.

Obviously, it's not a huge deal for me, because I do these walkthroughs for the benefit of our viewers and readers, but for some reason this one stung a bit more than others have in the past.

Maybe it's the fact that this "app" is even more offensive than Google's Gmail app, in that it's nothing more than a wrapper around a webpage?

Top Jailbreak Videos of the Week

Our top videos of the week roundups include some great iOS related videos that actually aren't technically jailbreak related at all. These include Kindle Fire vs. iPad 2, our iTunes Match walkthrough, and Minecraft for iOS.

Check Out These Beautiful iOS 5 Settings Panel Shortcuts

Ever since our initial post that showed how to create shortcuts for some of the most used items in the Settings app, many have taken a lot of interest in the idea.

Considering that there is no jailbreak for the iPhone 4S, and no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 in general, many are using Settings panel shortcuts as they wait for a jailbreak solution that works for them.

In the meantime, UI designer Jeff Broderick has taken things into his own hands, creating the most beautiful and detailed shortcuts icons we've seen to date...

Sprint Airs New iPhone 4S Commercial

Sprint has aired a new commercial for the iPhone 4S. The ad touts the iPhone's App Store by creatively displaying giant app icons throughout New York City.

Apple made the iPhone 4S and 8GB iPhone 4 available on Sprint's network last month, and Sprint has reported record sales for the handset.

Use Your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot to Wi-Fi Sync Your iDevices On the Go

While iOS 5 brought many new features that we had all been wanting, Wi-Fi syncing is probably one of the most desired features on the list. Using a white USB cable to sync an iDevice to iTunes is without a doubt one of the most irritating things of the pre-iOS 5 world.

But what if you are out and about and want to sync your iDevice, and you've done away with those syncing cables for good? Well, there is one way to sync your iDevice with a Mac that doesn't require a cable or a Wi-Fi router. You can actually use your iPhone's Personal Hotspot feature...

Sent is a Gmail App for iPhone that Gets Things Right, But Not Perfect

It seems like iOS Gmail apps are a little bit like London buses: you wait an hour for one, and then three come along at once. Two notable Gmail apps have entered the App Store as of late.

Gmail users rejoiced when Google finally brought an official Gmail app to the App Store, but after downloading the app, it was clear that the bug-laden effort wasn't what it should be. Google pulled it and eventually made it available again after fixing some of the more glaring bugs. That said, it's still not great, and is missing some features that we hope Google will eventually get around to adding.

A new app to join the Gmail fray goes by the name of "Sent," and while it is indeed a more native experience than Google's solution, the app doesn't get everything right...

OmniFocus Gains Siri Support and iCloud Syncing

For those that really take todo systems seriously, the OmniFocus app is often at the top of the list for getting things done. With a suite of apps that covers the Mac, iPad and iPhone, OmniFocus creators The Omni Group have created a real powerhouse of applications that many swear by.

In the latest update for the iPhone version of their OmniFocus app, the developers at The OmniGroup have taken Apple's lack of a Siri API and gone all Chuck Norris on it. Instead of waiting for Apple to give them permission to use Siri to create tasks, they have linked OmniFocus with iCloud, which in turn gives the app full access to reminders created using iOS 5's built-in Reminders app.

The end result? You can now tell Siri to create reminders in OmniFocus...

Use Siri to Dictate Text on Your Desktop With this Workaround

Even though Siri has received mixed reviews, a majority of the public seems to like the digital assistant. Folks are chomping at the bit for the feature to be ported to the iPhone 4 and other non-approved devices. And some are even hoping it finds its way to the Mac.

While we wait for Siri to arrive on the desktop by way of either Apple or hackers, this workaround might help fill the void. It allows users to dictate text on their desktop computers (Mac or PC) using Siri. It doesn't cost any money, and it's actually really easy to do...

RadioShack Receiving Sprint iPhone 4S Shipments this Weekend

We reported yesterday on the iPhone 4S supply issues that have been plaguing US operators since the device launched last month. The three major iPhone carrier partners are having trouble keeping up with consumer demand.

Most retailers are sold out of the phone in-store and are reporting shipping dates at least two weeks out. For those of you still trying to get your hands on this year's hottest handset, you may want to try your local RadioShack this weekend...

How the iPhone 4S Stacks Up Against Competition

For those of you who are in the market for a new smartphone, or recently bought one and want to know how yours stacks up against the competition, you'll be happy to hear that the folks over at AnandTech have done some research that you might find useful.

They've performed a series of benchmarks with all of the latest smartphones, including the new Google Galaxy Nexus, to see which handset is the fastest of them all. The tests include JavaScript loading, GPU loading, and browser speed. And the results may surprise you...
