By enabling a nifty feature in Settings, a simple "Speak" option can be shown any time you select a chunk of text. Siri can then read that text out loud through your iPhone's speaker at a pre-programmed speed.

Microsoft Releases Its First Game in the App Store

Microsoft is on something of a roll right now, with iOS apps rolling out of Redmond faster than you can say "Steve Ballmer." We've already had My Xbox LIVE and SkyDrive come from the mobile developers at Microsoft over the last few days, and now we've been treated to a new game.

Fans of the Xbox Kinect will know all about Kinectimals, a game that gives gamers a way to interact with virtual pets using the Kinect hands-free gaming accessory. If you are already a Kinectimals player on your Xbox 360, the new iOS app will unlock some more cubs for you to play with. You know, if that's your thing.

Invoke iOS 5’s Native Twitter By Means of an App Icon Shortcut

As if there weren't already plenty of options to invoke iOS 5's native Twitter integration. This time, the method is by means of a handy app icon conveniently placed on your iOS device's Home screen.

We already have standalone shortcuts, Activator options, and now Twicon — a standalone app icon that acts a shortcut directly to iOS 5's Twitter popup panel...

TubeCenter: Add YouTube to Notification Center

TubeCenter — as its name might allude to — is a tweak that allows you to place a YouTube widget in iOS 5's Notification Center.

The only problem with this tweak, is that it lacked any keyboard support — at least it did during my initial testing.

Once it's updated with the proper keyboard support, fans of YouTube could find this tweak useful. Check out our synopsis inside...

Over 60% of Developers Prefer iOS Over Android

Google's CEO Eric Schmidt made some waves at the recent Paris-hosted Le Web conference with comments regarding Android and its iOS competitor. Schmidt was at the conference to talk about Android's big update, Ice Cream Sandwich.

During his speech, the CEO made a pretty big 6-month prediction for Google's mobile platform, saying things like "developers will soon start choosing Android over iOS." But a recent research report from Flurry Analytics suggests otherwise.

Apple is Trying to Make iAd More Attractive to Advertisers

Apple has continued to lose ground to Google in online advertising after the launch of iAd. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is trying to make its iAd platform more attractive to potential advertisers.

Having originally asked marketers to commit to spend at least $1 million—an amount later dropped to $500,000—Apple is now discussing ad deals with a minimum commitment of just $400,000, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Apple has also introduced more flexibility to a pricing structure that had befuddled advertisers, ad executives say. Instead of charging marketers every time a user taps on an ad—a policy which often led to ad budgets quickly being exhausted—Apple is willing to put a cap on what it charges for the taps, according to the person. Advertisers pay $10 every time an ad is viewed a thousand times and $2 every time it is tapped on.

This new pricing structure will hopefully give iAd a fighting chance against Google's AdMob service.

Apple Expected to Sell 4 Million Apple TVs This Year

Apple has long described its Apple TV as a "hobby." And with sales of the set-top box not reaching anywhere near the numbers of Apple's other iOS devices, that makes perfect sense.

But even though Apple treats it like a side project, the Apple TV has done fairly well. A new report suggests that Apple's media hub has captured nearly a third of the market.

Nokia Exec Thinks iPhone is Boring and Android is Too Complicated

Nokia's got it all figured out. See, youths don't really want to buy an iPhone, it's just so boring. Android isn't quite what buyers are looking for, either. Teens just don't understand what Google has put in front of them. How could they?

Those are the views of outspoken Nokia director of Portfolio, Product Marketing & Sales Niels Munksgaard in an interview with Pocket-Lint. Apparently, he even managed to say it with a straight face!

According to Nokia's man, what do you think is the ideal platform for the youth of today? Windows Phone 7, of course!

How to Display Album Art in Your App Switcher

AlbumArt on AppSwitcher, a new jailbreak tweak available for free on Cydia, isn't the most elegantly named tweak out there.

But where its name may seem complex, its function is as simple as it gets. AlbumArt on AppSwitcher replaces the music icon that resides in your App Switcher with the album art of the tunes playing in your Music app.

Check inside for a video walkthrough of it in action.

How to Adjust Your Wallpaper’s Alpha Settings

If you're searching for some additional control over your iPhone's wallpaper, then WAlpha is available to help.

No, it has nothing to do with Wolfram Alpha, I too thought the same thing and was a bit disappointed when I found out otherwise. Instead, WAlpha stands for Wallpaper Alpha, and it does one thing and one thing only: allows you to adjust the alpha settings for the wallpaper on your Home screen and Lock screen.
