Apple wins US sales ban on outdated Samsung phones that are no longer sold

Following its multi-year patent spat with Samsung, Apple has finally won a United States sales ban on some older Samsung smartphones, FOSS Patents reported Tuesday.

The sales ban covers certain features of some Samsung phones, but the injunction is practically useless as it affects outdated devices, not the flagship Galaxy lineup, which are no longer available in the United States.

Undead Clicker! is an idle RPG that works while you are away

If you enjoy role-playing games as much as I do, you probably also know how difficult it can be to find time to play them. The good ones will suck you in for hours. Even the mediocre ones will keep you busy for longer than you'd expect.

Undead Clicker! is an RPG that you don't even have to lift a finger to play. Although, lifting and tapping that finger will help you earn more loot and hire more heroes to help you defeat that dangerous dragon boss.

First impressions: Bulbae xylum Apple Watch Charging Stand

The xylum from Bulbae is an Apple Watch charging stand machined out of a single piece of aluminum. It's a strikingly good-looking stand that compliments both the aluminum Apple Watch Sport and the stainless steel Apple Watch.

The stand features a circular design with chamfered edges. To accommodate the magnetic inductive Apple Watch charger, a conduit runs along the inside of the stand with a large opening for housing the charging pad.

The xylum isn't without flaw, but it's one of the better looking Apple Watch stands that I've seen thus far. Have a look inside for more pictures and thoughts.

In a nutshell, Demo Mode is what you see when looking at an Apple TV while in an Apple Store or other big box retail store. Have a look at the rest of this post to see how to enter Demo Mode on your own Apple TV.

Mimic iOS 9.3’s new Calculator app Quick Action with this tweak

iOS 9.3 beta includes a new Quick Action feature for the Calculator app, allowing those with a 3D Touch display to press firmly on the Calculator app icon to reveal a new option: Copy Last Result.

Fortunately, those with a jailbroken device on iOS 9.0-9.0.2 don't have to upgrade to iOS 9.3 beta to get this feature. A new free jailbreak tweak called CalculatorCopy is now available in Cydia's BigBoss repository that will bring this feature to older iOS 9 installations.

Apple honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with home page tribute

Apple has commemorated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday with a splash graphics on its homepage over at Apple.com.

List of Apple TV content providers

It's annoying when you download an Apple TV app for your favorite entertainment provider only to realize that you cannot access the service due to regional restrictions, the need to connect with your cable service or pay for the service.

Of all the third-party content provider apps available for download in the tvOS App Store, only a handful of services are available on a worldwide basis.

To save you some time, Apple has put together a handy support document which lists all the content providers available on the second, third and fourth-generation Apple TV.

How to remove iOS configuration profiles

Back in March 2013, security firm Skycure found that some configuration profiles on iOS pose a major security vulnerability because they use root certificates that might allow harmful software to bypass Apple's sandboxing rules and install on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Apple has since removed a few apps from the App Store that were found to install root certificates which could allow monitoring of data.

Still, the fact remains that configuration profiles could be exploited to compromise SSL/TLS security solutions. If you have a configuration profile installed on your device that's no longer use by apps, you should delete it in order to make sure your data remains protected.

In this tutorial, we're going to demonstrate how easy it is to delete iOS configuration profiles that are no longer needed, thereby increasing your security.

Apple investigating iPhone 6s battery percentage issue, offers temporary fix

Has the battery percentage indicator been acting up lately on your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus? If so, you're not alone: this is a known issue, according to Apple's newly published support document.

“If you change the time on your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus manually or change time zones when traveling, you might notice that the battery percentage doesn’t update,” reads the document.

Apple is aware of the problem and working hard to deliver a permanent fix.
