Wallpapers of the week: nature timeline

Each week, iDownloadBlog utilizes the Wallpapers of the Week section to highlight quality images for your iOS devices. Aside from jailbreaking, changing a wallpaper is the quickest way to personalize your device. Thanks to reader submissions, the section is a running gallery of talent!

This week, I am very excited to highlight a series of wallpapers created by @Stijndv. He drew a mountain naturescape, then altered the color pallet through eight different times of day. The end result is a timeline wallpaper collection of the scenery from early morning until midnight. It is a great set of walls and very beautifully done. Step inside for the downloads.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: 3DAppLock, Iconizer, & more…

Since the launch of the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak from Pangu, Cydia has been surging with new jailbreak tweak releases. The change in atmosphere has brought an end to the drought, at least for now.

In this roundup, we'll talk about all of the jailbreak tweaks that were released this week, starting with our favorites and then moving on to the rest.

Iconizer: the ultimate Home screen app icon effects tweak?

For some people, adding a touch of personality to their Home screen is one way that they set themselves apart from the stock iOS community. Of course, a touch isn't always enough. If you're looking for something a little more in-depth, then try a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Iconizer.

With Iconizer, you can not only tinker with Home screen app icon animations, but you can also add some catchy-looking effects to your app icons. All of the effects are 100% customizable, and we'll show you what this tweak is all about in this review.

Laugh.ly, Yearly, Habitify and other apps to check out this weekend

The Apps of the Week post is iDB's weekly roundup of apps and games we feel are worth checking out over the weekend. This week's edition features some great selections such as a new streaming service for stand-up comedy, a beautiful calendar app, a habit-tracking app with an interesting twist, and as usual, we've included two awesome new games for you to try.

BookmarksIcons displays the actual website icons for your Safari bookmarks

One of the things I find very bland about the Safari web browser for the iOS platform is how all of the bookmarks show the same icon. Not only does this look repetitive and fatiguing for the eyes, but it isn't as friendly to interact with.

Most modern desktop web browsers show the actual website icon when you bookmark a web page, and the mobile Safari web browser should be no different. If you're jailbroken, you can install a new jailbreak tweak called BookmarksIcons to accomplish this.

This tweak lets you unlock your iPhone with Touch ID even without a passcode

All of Apple's iPhones since the iPhone 5s, and even the latest iPad models, come with Touch ID fingerprint scanners that let you have access to your device almost immediately without the need to waste time entering a password or passcode at the Lock screen.

However, if you never use a passcode anyways, but you still enjoy the functionality of Touch ID, you can use a new jailbreak tweak called AlwaysTouch.

This music video was shot on iPhone 6s in 13 countries over the course of one month

A troubled teen growing up in the United Kingdom, Shirazee moved to South Africa as a refugee, living there for four years and dabbling in music before signing to Island Records, represented by Universal Music in South Africa.

His debut single, “Different”, is out now on Apple Music and iTunes, with the accompanying music video shot entirely on an iPhone 6s over the course of 31 days in a total of thirteen countries, including the five he has lived in.

New iPhone 7 dummies show what Space Black model might look like

With a little more than three weeks left until Apple's supposed unveiling on September 7, various iPhone 7 dummies have been cropping up everywhere. Judging by the comments, many of you are excited about a rumored Space Black (or Deep Blue?) colorway replacing the Space Gray finish in the iPhone 7 lineup.

A fresh batch of images posted yesterday to Chinese microblogging service Weibo, republished by AppleInsider, showcase an alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 7 model in Space Black, as well as two 5.5-inch models with and without a magnetic Smart Connector on their backside.

Apple TV universal search gains support for Australian ‘Stan’ streaming service

After adding support for searching shows from Viacom-owned Comedy Central and music networks MTV and VH1 on the fourth-generation Apple TV a month ago, Apple has recently added Australia's Stan streaming service to the list of providers that support tvOS's universal search feature, as first discovered by MacRumors. Now customers in Australia can find content on Stan by pressing the Siri button on their Siri Remote.
