Jake James updates Sock Port and Sock Port 2 exploits with 64-bit iOS 10 support

Jailbreakers haven’t even been able to blink their eyes lately without some sort of news regarding exploit or jailbreak tool updates, and as it would seem, there’s no sign that this will be slowing down anytime soon.

While the bulk of this news has dealt with adding support for newer firmware versions by way of updated and more efficient exploits, hacker and rootless JB 3.0 developer Jake James shook things up a bit this morning when he released updated versions of his Sock Port and Sock Port 2 tfp0 exploits with support for 64-bit devices running iOS 10.0-10.3.3:

Sileo v1.2.5 released to address more repository issues

Two more consecutive updates were released for Sileo Saturday afternoon, officially bringing the Chimera and Electra-centric package manager up to version 1.2.5. The same update is also available as a Demo for non-jailbroken handsets.

The Sileo Team announced Sileo versions 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 via Twitter just hours ago, with each update further addressing repository issues that were introduced in a previous update:

Sileo Team releases Sileo v1.2.3 with more repository-centric improvements

Just yesterday, the Sileo Team released v1.2.0 of the Sileo Demo for testing on non-jailbroken devices, promising that a jailbreak-centric update to Sileo would soon follow. Now, it appears that update is finally out, and better than before.

The Sileo Team released two consecutive updates for the Sileo package manager Saturday morning, including version 1.2.2 and 1.2.3. The updates were announced via the Sileo Team’s Twitter page:

Sileo Demo updated to v1.2.0 with rewritten repository manager

Sileo is the exclusive package manager for handsets that have been pwned with the Electra Team’s Chimera or Electra jailbreaks, but non-jailbroken devices can deploy a special build of Sileo for testing and repository-browsing purposes.

On Friday, the Sileo Team issued a revised iteration of the Sileo Demo for non-jailbroken devices, bringing it up to version 1.2.0:

Apple may ditch the problematic butterfly mechanism keyboards sooner than expected

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted that the first Apple notebook to ditch the butterfly keyboard will be a refreshed MacBook Air. However, the company recently updated the MacBook Air lineup without changing the keyboard mechanism. In a revised prediction, he's now saying that the phasing-out process will begin with the rumored new Mac notebook model sporting a 16-inch display that should release later this year.
