Haters are unapologetically disparaging Apple's iPhone 5c as an old iPhone 5 dressed up in some fancy colors. There's nothing wrong with that, mind you. At the same time, the device appears to be quickly selling out pretty much everywhere, from the United States to China. Prudent watchers are wise to warn against underestimating the power of the color in marketing, even more so with the world's greatest marketing machine pitching the colorized iPhone 5c.

We've already asked you whether you'll be getting an iPhone 5s or 5c and now we zero in on the colorful iPhone 5c. So, which iPhone 5c color are you?

Video: Burberry London fashion show, shot entirely with an iPhone 5s

Burberry and Apple announced last week that the fashion retailer will be exclusively using the iPhone 5s to film a fashion show that's currently underway in London and take images of the runway, beauty looks, product details and backstage moments. A nice promo tie-in is meant to associate the aspirational Apple brand with high fashion.

Burberry on Tuesday published the full video of the event, “shot exclusively on iPhone 5s". The video runs fifteen minutes long and is available in its entirety right past the fold...

App Store now lets you grab the last compatible app version on legacy devices

Apple has updated the App Store backend to allow for legacy app downloads, per tips we received this morning and this Reddit thread.

Starting today, trying to grab an app on the App Store from one of the unsupported iOS devices now presents users with a prompt offering to download the last compatible version available for their legacy hardware.

Previously, a developer posting a new app build would render older versions unavailable on the App Store. This improvement should be especially useful after iOS 7 arrives on Wednesday as owners of unsupported devices are now permitted to access the last compatible build on their outdated device...

First iPhone 5c/5s unboxing video and photos arrive

With less than three days left until the iPhone 5s/5c general availability, Apple this morning posted a reminder that both handsets are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, September 20 at 8:00am local time at Apple retail stores and at 12:01am PDT at the online Apple Store in the United States, United kingdom, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico and Singapore.

The company promised to release iOS 7 for public consumption on Wednesday so we think first iOS 7 and iPhone 5s/5c reviews will be hitting the web real soon. In the meantime, folks who pre-ordered Apple's cases for the new iPhones have reported receiving their shipment early.

And over in China, a few lucky customers who seem to have gotten their hands on the first iPhone 5s and 5c units posted photographic and video evidence of the unboxing as proof...

Amazon Instant Video iOS app now does AirPlay

Amazon released its Instant Video client for the iPhone and iPad in August 2012 as a way for Apple customers to access its growing library of movies and television shows from their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. The online retail giant hasn't been updating the software much, apart from June's update with visual tweaks and personal recommendations for movies and television shows based on your past viewing habits.

My biggest gripe with any type of software that does video is the absence of AirPlay streaming support. If you get your entertainment from Amazon, you should update your Amazon Instant Video installation to the latest version which not only enables Apple's AirPlay technology, but also includes a few other nice-to-haves...

Apple (again) announces iPhone 5s/5c go on sale on Friday

It may not be the press release Wall Street has been keeping its fingers crossed for, but Apple in a newly published media statement on Tuesday nevertheless reminded us that the new iPhone 5s and 5c are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, September 20 at 8:00am local time at Apple retail stores and at 12:01am PDT at the online Apple Store.

Both handsets will be available from day one in the United States, United kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico Singapore and - for the first time - in China, where Apple used to deliver new iPhones months after they'd launched in the United States...
