Tweaks of the week: Flash, SearchDelete, and more

We haven't seen that many tweaks released in a single week in recent memory, and that's a good thing. It means the jailbreak community is still vibrant and involved.

If you've been waiting for that groundbreaking tweak, well, I'm sorry to say you'll have to wait a little longer. However, if you're looking for smaller tweaks to enhance the iOS experience, we have about 30 of them here that you should check out.

iDB holiday gift guide: Sébastien’s picks

If you're anything like me, coming up with gift ideas for your loved ones can be a difficult task that happens to also be time consuming. That's why every year, iDB Editors come up with a list of what they think would make great gifts for the techies and non-techies alike in your life, hoping it will help you find something for that special person.

This year, I have tried to stay on a budget, and although there are a couple big ticket items in my list, most of them are very affordable. After all, it isn't the size or price of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives it.

Poll: do you still listen to Beats 1?

Beats 1 launched on Apple Music nearly six months ago to much fanfare, but today, the service doesn't seem to garner as much interest as it first did back in June. I myself listened to Beats 1 a bit, but the novelty quickly wore off, and the multiple genres played all days just didn't sit well with my specific tastes in music.

I know I haven't listened to Beats 1 in weeks, possibly months, and I am curious to see if more people feel the same way as I do, hence this poll.

Fix “Fetching” delay when selecting “Open With” on Mac

In my mind, computers are always supposed to work the way they should. And because they are computers, I shouldn't have to wait for them to process basic tasks. That's all in my mind of course, because in reality, things don't always go the way they should.

A perfect example of that is the Open With menu you get when right clicking on a file. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, my iMac will spend several seconds "fetching" the applications that can be used to open that specific file type.

Like with most things computer-related, the fix is pretty simple.

How to quickly go back where you were after accidentally scrubbing on Apple TV remote

You're sitting on your couch watching a movie. You reach for the Siri remote to adjust the volume, and once again, you accidentally scrub forward or backward when your finger touches the Touch surface. Now you're struggling to scrub back where you were until you find the right spot.

If you own the new Apple TV, you have most likely faced this annoying situation several times. Thankfully, a quick press of a button can fix this problem and take you right back where you were before you accidentally scrubbed.
