We are only a few days away from the launch of what most of us assume to be the next model of iPhone. With all of the speculation about screen size, it’s a wonder anyone is making new content for iOS at all right now. If you want to occupy your time while anxiously awaiting what Apple will reveal this Tuesday, we've got a list of apps and games to keep you busy.

Since there was a rush of new email clients in the app store over the past year, it has been difficult to find new ones that offer something special. I’ve settled into my favorites, but I’m always looking for interesting ways to read the dozens of messages I receive every day.
MailDeck is a third-party email client for iPhone and iPad that brings a new visual aesthetic to the genre. It includes many of the features we’ve grown accustomed to, but has a unique look that will turn your head. We’ve got an app review of MailDeck for you today.
Iconic brings minimalist pictograms to the iPhone in this fun puzzle game
If you are over the age of 21, or maybe even under, you have probably seen those entertaining beer bottle caps with pictograms. My friends and I love trying to figure out what they are. The hardest part is identifying the illustration. Is that a horse, or a dog?
Iconic is a fun pictogram puzzle game that uses minimalist graphics so it isn’t hard to figure out what the illustration is. However, the puzzles might give you a run for your money. We’ve got a hands-on game review of Iconic for you today.

The best apps for guitar tabs and chords
You may recall that I fancy myself a bit of a musician. I’ve been forcing my friends to listen to a variety of my musical endeavors for nearly two decades now. I’m sure they are bored with my stage antics by now. One piece of equipment that is almost as important to a musician as the instrument itself is a songbook.
There are a variety of ways to keep track of songs you’ve written or want to cover, and chords you need to practice, or want to perfect. The dawn of the mobile device has made it even easier than ever to carry your songbook with you through apps specifically designed for musicians. We’ve compiled a list of what we think are the best guitar tabs and chords apps for iPhone and iPad.
Apps of the week: Bioshock, 8bit Doves, Walking Dead Pinball, and more
This has been the biggest week in new apps and games I’ve seen in a while. It also came around just at the same time we found out about the upcoming iPhone event. The world is coming up Apple. If you are ready for a weekend full of epic games, retro fun, and sweet beats, we’ve got a list of apps and games that will fill you your restful hours.
MZR combines music and puzzles into one intense game
Anytime you download a game that comes with a seizure warning, it’s gotta be worth a look. That is, unless you suffer from seizures. Then, you should avoid it altogether. MZR is a Dubstep-themed puzzle game that features blinking white lights, shaky awkward camera angles, and puzzle mazes that challenge your skills in spatial recognition.
Invaders! From Outer Space is a highly stylized arcade shooter
I love the idea of taking a popular video game from decades ago and giving it a twenty-first century makeover. Turn flat, pixelated programs into fully realized creations and see what it looks like under today’s graphics.
Invaders! From Outer Space is an arcade shooter that uses the benefit of today’s technology on one of our most beloved sci-fi games. Stop the alien invasion before they steal all of our cows.
Pentumble is a multi-directional platformer with a sticky challenge
When I think of platform games, I usually imagine a side-scrolling landscape with a character that can run, jump, and maybe spit fireballs. I don’t imagine a character that can walk up, around, or under any flat surface without effort.
That’s what Pentumble is all about. This little orb has sticky feet all around, allowing it to roll onto any surface, even underneath, without risk of losing its grip. It does however risk getting smashed to bits on spiked gears. We’ve got a hands-on game review of Pentumble for you today.
One button is all you need to play Deep Under the Sky
There are thousands of physics-based games in the App Store. Some of them require skills in spatial reasoning. Others challenge your ability to aim and shoot. There are so many of them that it is difficult to find something unique in the genre anymore.
Deep Under the Sky is a physics-based game that requires you to estimate the arc of a moving object and redirect it using one button with limited actions. It successfully fits into traditional games in the genre, while offering unique gameplay through exploring new methods…
The Journey Down: Chapter Two finally makes it to the App Store
In 2012, SkyGoblin launched the first part of an incredible new episodic adventure game that swept iOS users off their feet. The hand painted graphics in The Journey Down: Chapter One are artistic and perfectly suited for the mobile gaming environment. The story is interesting and the characters are funny. The game is great, but is only the first in what is supposed to be a four-chapter story.
Today, The Journey Down: Chapter Two has finally landed in the App Store. For fans of the original, you’ll be happy to know this is just as fun as the first. For those who have never heard of the game, you can download the first chapter for free to celebrate the launch of chapter two.
CiRCA6 is a minimalist game about reflexes, strategy and circles
Sometimes, the best games are the simplest ones. I don’t necessarily mean minimalistic, either. Games that only have one or two goals or only one control mechanism are great for distracting you while not requiring too much of your attention.
CiRCA6 is a simple arcade game where players move a dot around on the screen, destroying other dots. There isn’t much to it, but it has just enough of a challenge to keep you coming back for more.
