Apple has shut down Texture

Apple purchased Texture, a digital reading service that offered a variety of magazines and more for a set monthly fee, back in March of 2018. The company was quick to fold that company's features into its own idea, launching Apple News+ for $10 per month a year later. But for the new service to live, the old one must die.

Apple has used a variety of names to help spruce up its desktop operating system's naming scheme over the years. We've seen animals like Snow Leopard in the past, but, more recently, Apple has stuck to natural landscapes located in California. The last release, macOS Mojave, followed right along with that idea, and we may see it continue this year.

Apple updates Music Memos app with notch support

In January of 2016, Apple launched an app called Music Memos. It allowed musicians and other creatives to capture song ideas quickly. But, since the app's launch the company has not updated the app on any kind of regular basis. Here we are in May of 2019 and the app finally officially supports the notch.

Allowing applications on devices to collect some data is a standard expectation these days. Permissions are meant to let users know what they are collecting, why they need it, and should give the user the power to say no if they so choose. However, some apps use a built-in feature within iOS to take advantage of data collection and send that information to tracking services.

Apple sees the Apple Card, its own-branded credit card, as a way for owners to reach a path to positive "financial health". The card has many specific customer-centric features, most of which go against the standard credit card -- which angle more towards a bank's wellbeing, rather than the customer. Turns out those aggressive terms on Apple's part led at least one bank to bank out.
