On any given day, fire up the Music app on your Apple device and find an up-to-date list of your top 25 songs based on the frequency of plays. “The tracks you can’t get enough of lately, all in one place,” reads the playlist’s description.

To add it to your playlists, select the Listen Now section and find it under Top Picks. On iOS 17.4 and later, select the Home tab and scroll down to the Made For You heading. To add it, touch and hold its graphic and choose Add to a Playlist.

To have the Music app automatically add playlist songs to your library, be sure to turn on the Add Playlist Songs switch in Music > Settings on iPhone and iPad. On your Mac, click the Music menu, choose Settings, then select the Advanced tab and tick the Playlists box next to “Add songs to Library when adding to. ”

Apple Music launches the new Heavy Rotation Mix playlist

Heavy Rotation Mix joins other algorithmically-created, auto-updating, personalized playlists on Apple Music, like Favorites Mix, Get Up! Mix, Chill Mix, New Music Mix and Friends Mix. As mentioned, those are all updated weekly instead of daily.

Recently,  Apple Music introduced a monthly Replay experience that gathers stats about your listening habits on a monthly basis. Before that, it launched love-themed personalized radio stations for Valentine’s Day (named Love and Heartbreak), found under Stations for You in Listen Now or Home on iOS 17.4.

The iPhone maker is also working on a feature that will simplify importing playlists and libraries from other streaming services, like Spotify.

And iOS 17.4 brought a new Shazam & Save shortcut to the Shortcuts app. What it does is use the built-in Music Recognition feature to identify the song and then add it to your library or a playlist on Apple Music or Apple Music Classical. This wasn’t possible before unless you downloaded the standalone Shazam app.
