Spinnr, Align, Krono Timeline, and other apps to check out this weekend

Hey everybody, it’s that time again! It’s time for our Apps of the Week roundup, where we highlight some of our favorite apps and games from the week. This week we have some great picks for you, including an app for meeting new friends, a health and wellness companion, and a trivia app for history buffs. And as always, we’ve selected a great game for you to check out.

Spinnr – Meet New Friends

Are you someone who thinks we don’t share enough of ourselves online these days? Do you ever wish there was another way to put yourself out there? Fear not, Spinnr has you covered. It’s a new kind of social app for meeting people with similar hobbies and interests. ” No boring pics, only fun videos.” Jokes aside, I do think there is a huge opening for an app that can take the awkwardness out of meeting new people and making friends. Is this it? Well, how about you try it and let me know!

Align: Good Mental Health

I know I’ve said this before, but wow, my new app stream is full of nothing but Ai and mental health apps. Seriously, it’s ChatGPT and mindfulness all the way down. I wonder what that says about us as a society. Anyway, Align seems like a good app to check out if you are looking to better yourself. The UI is super sharp, and the app uses 7 key principles — food, sleep, environment, relationships, lifestyle, mindset and purpose — to get your mind right. Sounds good to me.

Krono Timeline – Trivia Quiz

Did you know that we are closer in time to Cleopatra then Cleopatra was to the Great Pyramids? And do you know which came first, the invention of the printing press or Columbus’ first voyage to the Americas? If you do, well good for you, and you should probably check out Krono timeline. To play, simply drag and drop the cards onto the timeline in their correct chronological order. There are free daily challenges, a daily history digest, Sudden Death mode, and more. The app is free to play, but you pay to stay.

Worderland: The word chain

What’s this, you might be asking. Another game? Yeah, so I felt like going two apps and two games today, sue me! Anyway, Worderland is tough to say, but easy to play. You are given 60 seconds to come up with as many words as possible, while following the rules: each word must start with the last letter of the previous word (except for your initial letter, which is given to you). I’m just going to say that this game is awesome, and there is an oddly-tiny leaderboard that I intend to make someday. That is all.
