Apple’s MagSafe Battery pack for the iPhone 12 series was launched in July 2021 for $99. It’s a portable battery pack that attaches to the back of the iPhone 12 models via magnets. The MagSafe Battery pack is available in white color and compatible with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and/or iPhone 12 Pro Max.
If you’ve just bought yourself a MagSafe Battery pack, then here’s how to find its serial number and check the firmware version. You might need these details in case there’s something wrong with your battery pack.
How to find serial number of Apple MagSafe Battery pack
Serial number can come in handy if you want to check the authenticity of the battery pack, or in case your MagSafe Battery pack is defective. You can claim warranty by providing the serial number to Apple. The serial number will be printed on the back of the battery pack in tiny letters. It can be hard to read, which is why we’d suggest using the following method instead.
1) Attach the MagSafe Battery pack to your iPhone 12.
2) Launch Settings app.
3) Select General and tap on About.
4) Look for MagSafe Battery Pack and you should have the serial number.
Get firmware version of MagSafe Battery pack
Apple’s MagSafe Battery pack could receive software updates over the air. Therefore, knowing the firmware version of your battery pack can be useful. Here’s how to find the firmware version.
1) Once again, attach the battery pack to a compatible iPhone.
2) Open Settings on your device.
3) Select General and navigate to About.
4) Find MagSafe Battery Pack.
The firmware version will be listed at the end of the page. There hasn’t been any firmware updates for the MagSafe Battery Pack since its release, so we’re not sure how the update process will work.
