Apple Music launches support for Spatial Audio and Lossless in India

It has already been over two months since Apple announced support for Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos and Lossless audio in Apple Music. A month later it actually launched, and now the features are going live in India. It’s been a long wait for folks in the region wanting to try these new elements out, but the wait is finally over.

As noticed by Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) on Twitter (via 9to5Mac), the Apple Music app in India is now offering support for both Spatial Audio and Lossless audio. Agarwal says that the support is rolling out now, and adds that by the time they see the tweet the features should be live in Apple’s music subscription service.

Here’s that tweet:

As is present everywhere else these features are supported, Apple Music subscribers will see in the app whether or not a track supports any of these features. There will be clear indicators for Digital Masters, Lossless, and Dolby Atmos. Plus, dedicated playlists should be live for subscribers to dive into to try out Spatial Audio.

While Lossless is a big deal, generally speaking, the big new addition for Apple Music is Spatial Audio. The company sees this as a major push forward for music listening in general. These new features are now live in India for subscribers.
