How to stop promotional emails and notifications from Apple

Learn how to prevent Apple from inundating you with emails and notifications regarding new announcements, recommendations, special offers, updates, apps, TV, music, News, newsletters, and other offerings.

Apple announcements can come in handy if you’re interested in new releases for music and TV shows or updates on Apple products. But if you feel like you’re getting too many, you can stop those you no longer want in just a couple of taps or clicks.

You can manage your Apple email subscription preferences from an iOS device, Mac, or even a web browser.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Personal Information, followed by Communication Preferences.
  3. Turn off the switch next to Announcements, Apple, Music, TV, and More, and Apple News Newsletter (if visible).

You can disable one or all options, depending on what you’d like to continue receiving. And these settings apply to your Apple Account, so you don’t have to make the change on every device.

Mac

  1. Open System Settings and click your Apple ID name from the top left.
  2. Go to Personal Information.
  3. Click the info button ⓘ next to Communication Preferences.
  4. Turn off Announcements, Apple, Music, TV, and More, and Apple News Newsletter. And click Done to save the changes.

Web browser

  1. Visit account.apple.com and sign in using your Apple Account details.
  2. Select Privacy from the left sidebar.
  3. Click Message from Apple at the bottom.
  4. Uncheck the boxes for Announcements, Apple, Music, TV, and More, and Apple News Newsletter, and click Change.

Turn off notifications from Music and App Store on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Music app or App Store and tap your profile picture or its placeholder icon from the top right.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Turn off the switch for New Music or other options you see here. For the App Store, turn off New Features & Updates and Recommendations & Offers.
  4. Tap Done to save the changes if visible.

Alternatively, go to iOS Settings > Notifications and choose Music or App Store. Now, turn off the Allow Notifications switch. This will block all notifications from these apps.
