Sileo updated to v1.1.2 with performance improvements and preliminary Swift 5 support

The Sileo Team released an updated version of Sileo on Tuesday, bringing the Chimera and Electra-centric package manager up to version 1.1.2.

The Sileo Team announced the update early this morning via Twitter, adding that it would include some particularly notable upgrades over the previous version:

Citing the official change log, Sileo v1.1.2 incorporates the following changes:

Sileo v1.1.2

– Begins moving components over to Swift 5
– Faster repo refresh & app launch
– Fixes mis-labeled repos
– Swift is packaged separately, so it can be shared with the next Anemone update and will take less space!

From what we can gather, the most significant changes in this update have to do with performance improvements and preliminary support for Swift. It’s also worth noting that repositories will perform better in Sileo 1.1.2 than they would in older versions.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sileo’s latest update is available through the default repositories on either of the Electra Team’s jailbreak solutions.

In addition to updating Sileo for jailbreakers, the Sileo Team has updated the Sileo Demo for non-jailbroken devices to version 1.1.2. This version incorporates the native BigBoss repository, a feat made possible by 0ptimo’s recent decision to add SHA256 support to the BigBoss repository. Native BigBoss repository support will purportedly come to the jailbroken version of Sileo in the next update.
