It was only a few days ago that the Odyssey Team acknowledged the discovery of a serious bug on iOS 14 that could cause data loss and/or forced iOS updates.
As such, the Odyssey Team recommended that users of newer versions of the Taurine jailbreak revert to Taurine version 1.0.4, as both versions 1.0.5 and 1.0.6 appeared to exacerbate this issue one way or another.
Taurine jailbreak users may want to backtrack their jailbreak from version 1.0.5 or 1.0.6 to version 1.0.4 pending an announcement shared early Wednesday morning by Odyssey Team member @23Aaron_.
In the announcement, which was echoed on in several different places including the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel, the @OsysseyTeam_ Twitter page, and even on /r/jailbreak, we learn that these versions of Taurine (1.0.5 and 1.0.6) exacerbate an issue in stock iOS that can result in data loss and forced iOS updates.
The Odyssey Team frequently updates the Taurine jailbreak tool for iOS & iPadOS 14 with new features, bug fixes, and improvements. Today is no different.
Taurine v1.0.6 is now officially available to the general public, introducing important patches and upgrades that jailbreakers won’t want to miss out on.
With a steady stream of jailbreak news and releases lately, it’s not overly surprising that we’re seeing an update for a popular jailbreak tool this afternoon.
The Odyssey Team published a fresh update for its iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3-centric Taurine jailbreak, this time bringing it up to version 1.0.5 to address bugs and improve performance of the jailbreak overall.
If your jailbreak depends on the Sileo package manager for installing jailbreak tweaks and extensions, then today might be a good idea to launch the app and refresh your sources.
If you were following along yesterday, a bevy of updates to jailbreak-centric software with support for iOS & iPadOS 14.5 were released. This included checkra1n, Cydia Substrate, and Substitute to name a few.
But the updates didn’t stop there. Odyssey Team Web and App Developer @23Aaron_ pushed an update for the macOS-based Betelguese Odysseyra1n installer for checkra1n’d devices, officially bringing it up to version 1.1.
The quest to pwn the Apple Watch is one that has received oodles of attention over the years, and while the concept is most certainly possible, it hasn’t quite reached the level of fruition that most jailbreakers would expect – especially when compared with the jailbreak offerings for iPhones and iPads.
Much of this has to do with the uncertainty of an Apple Watch jailbreak’s usefulness in addition to concerns related to restoring the Apple Watch’s firmware in the event of catastrophic errors (respring loops, etc.), but that hasn’t stopped some jailbreak developers from dabbling with the idea.
If you were following along us this morning, then you would’ve witnessed the Odyssey Team release an update for the iOS & iPadOS 13.0-13.7-based Odyssey jailbreak tool. That update, dubbed version 1.3.2, included a long list of modifications including exploit-centric changes, a fix for CarPlay in Ford-branded vehicles, and various other bug fixes.
But if you were one of many who thought that was going to be it, then you’re in for a surprise. The Odyssey Team has just released a second update this fine Thursday evening, this time bringing the Odyssey jailbreak tool up to version 1.3.3.
While much of the jailbreak hype these days has to do with iOS and iPadOS 14, it’s important to consider that iOS & iPadOS 13 are still considered “modern” in the jailbreak world.
With that in mind, it may come as no surprise to seasoned jailbreakers that the Odyssey Team has released an update for the iOS & iPadOS 13-centric Odyssey jailbreak tool this morning despite spending most of its effort releasing and refining the new iOS & iPadOS 14-centric Taurine jailbreak tool.
Another day, another jailbreak tool update. This time, the spotlight is shining on the Odyssey Team’s Taurine jailbreak for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3.
The latest update, coined version 1.0.4, brings a series of bug fixes and improvements that existing Taurine jailbreak uses are sure to appreciate.
If you’re using a jailbreak that utilizes CoolStar’s libhooker tweak injection method, be it Chimera for iOS 12, Odyssey for iOS or iPadOS 13, Taurine for iOS or iPadOS 14, or Odysseyra1n for any firmware ranging from iOS 12 to iOS or iPadOS 14, then it would be advisable to launch the Sileo package manager and refresh your sources this morning.
Upon doing so, you should take notice of an updated iteration of libhooker, which appears to have been updated to version 1.6.0.
Keen-eyed jailbreakers who are currently taking advantage of the Odyssey Team’s Taurine tool on their iOS or iPadOS 14.0-14.3 device may have noticed a peculiar new package on the Odyssey repository called Jailbreak Updater.
Citing an announcement shared early this morning in the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel by Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar, said that this novel package would allow power users with a Terminal app on their iPhone or iPad to update to the latest version of the Taurine jailbreak while already in a jailbroken state.
