The Sileo Team is out with yet another update for the Sileo package manager this Saturday afternoon with a number of miscellaneous bug fixes that should lend subtle improvements to the app’s user experience.
The Chimera jailbreak tool for iOS 12 devices received a rare update late Thursday night to version 1.6.4.
Amid all the recent excitement surrounding jailbreak untether hype and the confirmation that one would be officially released on October 21st, there’s certainly a lot to look forward to. But for right now, it’s business as usual for jailbreak groups like the Odyssey Team.
Curiously timed with respect to the upcoming iOS & iPadOS 15 updates for iPhone and iPad, The Odyssey Team appears to have released an updated version of the iOS & iPadOS 13-based Odyssey jailbreak tool.
Just a couple of days ago, the Odyssey Team shared that it was already investing in test devices for iOS & iPadOS 15 jailbreak development. The announcement was accompanied by a photograph of an iPod touch that had been custom engraved with the words “Odyssey Team” on the back.
More recently, Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar took to the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel to share that libhooker — the tweak injection method utilized by the Chimera, Odyssey, and Taurine jailbreaks for iOS 12, 13, and 14 respectively — was mostly working on iOS 15 beta 8.
In a spark of optimism for the jailbreak community, the Odyssey Team seems to be getting a head start with respect to investing in the future of jaibreaking.
The Sileo Team released yet another update to the Sileo package manager for jailbroken iPhones and iPads this week, this time bringing it up to version 2.2.5.
If you use any of the CoolStar-led jailbreaks, including Chimera for iOS 12, Odyssey for iOS & iPadOS 13, or Taurine for iOS & iPadOS 14, then there’s a good chance that you’re using libhooker for tweak injection, which is the intricate process that lets installed jailbreak tweaks work their magic on your handset’s operating system.
While CoolStar regularly updates libhooker with improvements, CoolStar just this past weekend opted to launch a public beta of a new libhooker build dubbed libhooker v1.6.9 beta 1 to allow voluntary testers to try the latest features before they roll out to the general public by way of an official update.
Anyone that uses the Taurine jailbreak on their iOS or iPadOS 14.0-14.3 device might be intrigued to know that a newer version of the tool is now available.
If you happen to enjoy jailbreaking and have a deep appreciation for open-source software, then we’ve got some amazing news for you!
Following the release of a major update to the Sileo package manager just over two weeks ago with support for all jailbreaks and an extensive change log, the Sileo Team has published several smaller updates in the days following.
Today, we’re witnessing the release of yet another update for the Sileo package manager, this time bringing the app up to version 2.2.4-1.
At the start of the year, CoolStar launched a standalone libhooker Configurator app that could be used to fine-tune the native libhooker tweak injection method on the Odyssey and Taurine jailbreaks.
The libhooker Configurator app has received several updates since its initial release, but a new build launched just this weekend in the form of version 1.2 might be especially intriguing – especially for anyone using the Chimera jailbreak.
