Watch Auburn University ad with Tim Cook’s FaceTime cameo

Tim Cook appeared in a pair of recent videos by Auburn University in Alabama, which he attended (class 1982) and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.

The first video celebrates notable alumni who have put their Auburn degrees to work in exciting ways, showing Cook calling via FaceTime on his 10.5-inch iPad Pro into a college football game from Apple’s headquarters in California and participating in the War Eagle battle cry.

In the other video, Cook is interviewed about his thoughts on Auburn University. He also shares some advice with students to illustrate where an Auburn education can take you.

“For me, Auburn was about high touch, high feeling, but not a super-large school. There are large schools out there that are almost factories, they make so many students,” he said.

“Auburn is not like that. Auburn is about giving people a lot more personal help and attention. For that reason, it feels more like a family.”

How do you like these clips?

I think it’s nice to see a relaxed Cook in an informal setting showing his other side that we rarely get to see during carefully controlled public appearances in his role as the CEO of Apple.
