Apple Watch prices revealed

We're watching the “Spring Forward” event currently underway in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and CEO Tim Cook has revealed that the aluminum Sport edition of the wrist-worn device will cost $349 for the smaller 38mm model and $399 for the larger 42mm one.

The other model, the stainless steel Apple Watch, will set you back between $549 and $1,049 for the smaller 38mm version, depending on your choice of wrist band. The larger 42mm version will set you back $599 to $1,099 — again, depending on your band of choice.

As for the Apple Watch Edition, it's going to start at a whopping $10,000 and all the way up to $17,000. Quantities and availability will be limited.

Hey Siri will allow you to interact with Apple Watch hands-free

We've always known that Apple Watch will have Siri integration, but some new developments were revealed at Today's Apple Watch event. While on stage, Kevin Lynch demonstrated Hey Siri functionality, which allows you to invoke Siri by simply raising your wrist and using only your voice.

iOS 8.2 will be available for download today

On stage at Apple's media event on Monday, Tim Cook announced that iOS 8.2 will launch to the public today. The software update, which has been in beta for several weeks now, will bring about the Apple Watch companion app that will allow your iPhone to talk to the upcoming wearable.

We saw a preview of the app back in January, when it was unearthed from a developer beta. It will allow users to customize a wide range of things on their Apple Watch including the Clock app with personalized monograms and alerts for notifications, people in your Contacts list, and more.

Apple Watch will have “all day”, 18-hour battery life

We've been waiting for months to hear how long the Apple Watch's battery will last, and luckily the Cupertino-based company has appeased us during its "Spring Forward" media event on Monday. Apple says the Apple Watch will have an 18-hour battery life, or what Apple calls "all day battery life".

"During a typical day you can expect 18 hours. This works for most people I think," Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, told attendees at the event.

Apple’s “Spring Forward” event is underway at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and CEO Tim Cook said that Apple has challenged itself to “reinvent the notebook” before he took the wraps off a brand new MacBook model which weighs just two pounds and is available in silver, space gray and “a stunning gold.”

Featuring a twelve-inch screen with a Retina pixel resolution of 2304-by-1440 pixels, the display produces clearer images and consumes up to thirty percent less energy. The trackpad, now called, Force Touch trackpad, ditches away the mechanical design in favor of four sensors and Haptic Engine from the Apple Watch.

Apple makes first steps into medical research, introduces ResearchKit

Apple's Jeff Williams has just taken the stage at the Apple Watch event to talk about a new venture for the company: medical research. The SVP of Operations explains how working on HealthKit for iPhone led the Cupertino firm to release a new platform to aid in medical research, called ResearchKit.

"For all the amazing breakthroughs medical researchers have made, they still face big challenges," Williams said. "Sometimes, researchers see patients only once a quarter, making it difficult to get a complete picture of their health." And that's where ResearchKit comes in—now researchers can create apps.

Apple drops price of Apple TV to just $69

Apple has cut the price of its Apple TV from $99 to $69, following the announcement of HBO Now coming exclusively to the Apple TV in April.

Apple is holding its “Spring Forward” media event at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and the company has just announced that HBO's rumored subscription service is debuting on the now discounted Apple TV set-top box next month at a fleet monthly fee of $14.99.

The CEO of HBO Richard Plepler took the stage to say that the service, dubbed HBO Now, will be exclusive to Apple at launch. Past, present and future programming will be available on Apple devices, via a brand new channel on Apple TV and a dedicated iOS app.

Apple's highly anticipated “Spring Forward“ media event is due in less than two hours and a report by The Wall Street Journal is now alleging that the company has been evaluating platinum for future versions of the Apple Watch.

Apple promised to offer the wrist-worn device in three versions created from custom alloys of stainless steel and aluminum, each in two finishes, as well as “unique formulations of 18-karat yellow and rose gold.”
