Check out the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 for iPhone and iPad

If you're a gadget freak, then the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 is going to blow your socks off, just like the first version did twelve months ago.

Shown off at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, the AR.Drone 2.0 takes what was already a super cool and easy to fly iPhone-controlled quadricopter, and somehow manages to make it even more amazing. Featuring a new 720p HD camera and new flying aids, the 2.0 release of our favorite flying machine just took iPhone-related toys to the next level while keeping it just one step ahead of the competition.

Oh, and it now works with the iPad, too...

Evidence That Siri May be iPad-Bound Found in iOS 5.1

Surprise Surprise. Not even 12 hours after Apple released the third beta for iOS 5.1, known firmware hacker Sonny Dickinson has already uncovered some interesting information.

Apparently the latest iOS update contains evidence that Apple is working on an iPad-compatible version of Siri, Apple's popular digital assistant. Dickinson uncovered the reference after loading iOS 5.1 beta 3 onto his iPad 2...

Apple CEO Made $377,996,537 in 2011

2011 wasn't a bad year for Apple newly appointed CEO Tim Cook, who made almost $378 million:

According to Apple’s 2012 Proxy Statement, Cook received a jaw dropping $377,996, 537 million in total compensation last year — which is $377,996,536 than his late predecessor made.

Cook made a little over $900,000 in salary in 2011, but a massive bonus in restricted stock units vesting in two five-year increments and doled out with his appointment to the CEO slot, sent his total compensation into the stratosphere.

Acer’s New PictStream and Cloud Services Look Awfully Familiar

Last night, during its CES keynote, Taiwan-based manufacturer Acer announced that it was getting into the cloud business. Dubbed AcerCloud, the service will allow users to keep content synced between their phones, tablets and computers.

Now, we're not trying to jump to any conclusions here. But there's something about the service that looks awfully familiar. We can't quite put our finger on it, but it seems like we've seen this service and, come to think of it, these slides before...

The iPhone Turns 5 Years Old Today

Steve Jobs announced the original iPhone five years ago on January 9th at Macworld. He famously said, "Today, Apple is going to reinvent the phone." He was right.

In a post-iPhone world, it may be difficult for most of us to remember what the industry looked like before Apple's announcement at Macworld in 2007. The iPhone has profoundly impacted not only the mobile phone market, but the device has also led to other redefining products, like the iPad.

Blutrol is a recently released jailbreak app that allows you to map your iCade control cabinent to pretty much any game that features on screen controls. That means that the iCade is no longer limited to a handful of so-so games, which makes the device a lot more useful and appealing to gamers.

Basically, Blutrol transforms your iCade from a mere conversation piece, into a legitimate gaming machine. All you need is a jailbroken iPad, and you're good to go...

iOS 5.1 Beta 3 Brings Back “Enable 3G” Toggle

Earlier this morning, Apple seeded iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers. At a glance, the update looked like your typical bug fix and maintenance release. But folks have already uncovered a new feature.

It's not exactly new. iOS has long since had the ability to toggle 3G data on and off. However it has been absent in recent software releases, and now it looks like beta 3 has brought it back...

Apple Stock Hits All-Time High of $427 Per Share

Back in October of last year, TechCrunch writer MG Siegler wrote an article entitled "If You Sold Your Apple Stock Today, You're an Idiot." The post was in response to Apple's stock price dropping more than 23 points in 8 hours.

The crash was likely the culmination of Steve Jobs' recent passing, initial reaction/disappointment to the iPhone 4S, and the fact that Apple missed The Street's sales projections for their Q3 of 2011. But the negativity didn't last long...

Apple Releases iOS 5.1 Beta 3 to Developers

Finally, after nearly a month of silence, Apple has seeded the 3rd beta of iOS 5.1 to developers. As you may recall, the company pushed out beta 2 all the way back on December 12th of last year.

As several other sites are noting, the update only seems to be available via OTA (over-the-air) for previous iOS 5.1 users, but it should be available from Apple's regular developer portal shortly...
