Great news for biteSMS fans with late-model iPhones this morning. BiteSMS 8.0 beta 7 has been released to the public, and in addition to a handful of bug fixes and user interface improvements, the update brings about support for the iPhone 5s.
The beta has actually been out for almost two weeks now, but due to complications with the 64-bit A7 processor, it has thus far been limited to older devices. That changes today though, and now 5s users can finally enjoy the biteSMS app on iOS 7… Read More

biteSMS is without a doubt one of the biggest jailbreak apps of all time. I mean, even Sebastien raves about it, and we all know how picky he is when it comes to installing things on his iPhone.
As Joe pointed out earlier, biteSMS 8.0 beta is here for you to test out with your jailbroken iOS 7 device. Although it is a bit buggy—which it should be considering it’s a beta—I couldn’t wait. I’ve installed it, and I recorded a short video showing off how beautiful the app looks on iOS 7. Take a look inside to see what I mean. Read More

Good news for folks who like the features of biteSMS, but don’t use it due to performance and reliability issues. The team behind the popular Messages app replacement claims many known bugs were fixed in an update today.

A new feature is coming to what is arguably the best text messaging app for iOS. If you listened to our previous episode of Let’s Talk Jailbreak, then you already have a good idea what it is. On the podcast, I speculated about what big new feature could be coming to biteSMS after its developer hinted about a brand new addition. My guess was Text Heads.
Today, we can confirm that, indeed, Facebook inspired “Text Heads” are coming to biteSMS. After a few hints, the confirmation came straight from the horse’s mouth. Read More

Last month, Filippo Bigarella released a handy little tweak called LastPic. For those who missed it, LastPic lets you quickly add the last photo you took to an iMessage conversation, similar to the Tweetbot function.
Unfortunately, the tweak is only compatible with the iMessage app. But luckily we’ve discovered a simple hack that allows you to use it with the popular jailbreak app biteSMS. And yes, we’ve got a tutorial for you… Read More

Are you a fan of the BiteSMS jailbreak tweak, but prefer using services other than iMessage or SMS to send texts to your friends? Back in June, Delicious Inc. released Quick Reply for WhatsApp; which essentially brought BiteSMS’s quick reply pane to WhatsApp’s notifications. Today, on the heels of the release of the evasi0n jailbreak, the developers behind BiteSMS bring a similar tweak to Viber in iOS 5 and iOS 6.
Viber is another cross platform messaging app that allows users to make free calls, as well as send texts and photos. The original app works between iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Nokia, and Bada. It’s a free alternative platform that is compatible with every major smartphone on the market. Viber is growing in popularity, so it’s ripe for a jailbreak tweak of its own… Read More

I have a love/hate relationship with BiteSMS. On the on hand, it’s my most used application and I can’t seem to find a decent replacement that offers as many features, but on the other hand, it’s the only application that
sometimes often causes my iPhone to crash.
I’ve tried to replace it many times but I always come back to it simply because its feature list has been unmatched so far. Today, BiteSMS gets that much better with version 6.3 now available in Cydia… Read More

How do you plan on preparing for the next iPhone? Whether it’s the iPhone 5, or the iPhone 4S, a lot of folks have different gameplans when it comes to acquiring the next iPhone.

BiteSMS is without a doubt my favorite jailbreak app. I use it several times a day to write and read text messages. Up until now, you couldn’t run BiteSMS on a jailbroken iPhone running iOS 5 beta. But due to the overwhelming demand, the BiteSMS team has decided to release an iOS-compatible version of the app.
Because it is in its early beta development, you can expect BiteSMS to have quite a few bugs. However, the die hard BiteSMS fan that you are will most likely see past those issues and focus on the exciting new features… Read More

Today, we were able to get our hands on an early build of SMSPlus, a jailbreak tweak that significantly enhances the stock messages app.
The big thing about SMSPlus is that it’s not a separate app like biteSMS or others, but it’s tightly integrated into the stock messages app, and made to look as stock as possible.
There’s pull to sort functionality, quick reply, quick compose, text to speech, and a bevy of other things to uncover. Check inside for the full video preview… Read More
