  • Lukas

Jeff voice is a little to low

    • he sounds depressing

      • Sentry

        aka ‘smoother talker’.

      • lol thats a good way to put it i guess…ll

    • 笑傲江湖

      - -!

  • hack4life

The audio bar disappears after i clicked on play..
    i use FF and Win8

    • Jeff

It’s a FireFox issue. FF doesn’t support HTML 5 audio player. I’d use one of the alternatives listed above.

      • PathKiller29

I believe you can get Firefox working by providing a different file type (.ogg I think)

  • Hope everything works out for you with the break in.

  • Can you mute Sparrows notifications whoever is using it in the podcast? Whenever there is e-mail coming I think it is coming for me, lol.

    • Damian W

same here, i was checking my sparrow constantly while listening.

    • Guilty 🙂

  • I’ve actually had to use the MobileSubstrate volume up feature twice now. Once actually a few minutes ago. All my dang tweaks lol. But it’s a great feature. Always have a little heart attack though when stuff like that happens. So I know what you mean Sebastien.

  • Daaang. I remember Magic Eye. Old school.

  • Great idea starting a podcast guys! If I had to give any advice on how to make it better, I would say it needs more participants! Three people would be perfect! An extra person would bring more variety, more information and a wider spectrum of opinions!

Also every week, each member of the podcast should speak about a favourite tweak!

And last but not least, not sure how feasible this is but if the podcasts first broadcast live, listeners could write in via email or iMessage or what have you, while the blog is live to give information and opinions etc! That way your listeners feel more involved!

    • Hey Matt, thanks for all the suggestions.

I’m not sure about having three people every week but we definitely plan to spice things up a bit (hint: make sure to listen to the next episode).

We do speak on our favorite tweak every weeks (ie Flux or Xpandr). As you can imagine, the amount of favorite tweaks we each have is fairly limited and I can’t see myself talking about ButeSMS and Zephyr every week. It would be redundant and boring for listeners.

We’re definitely not opposed to doing live shows but that’s not part of our plans in the near future. There is more to podcasting than just talking and since we are fairly new at it, we think it’s better to do private recordings, at least until we get completely comfortable with it. Hope it makes sense.

      • Could do like a Q&A part where you answer actual questions from your viewers that have been submitter throughout the week! Maybe set up a submission page on iDB

      • Good idea! +1

      • that would be great

      • Probably not a dedicated page on iDB. Asking questions via Twitter would be the way to go

      • respectfully disagree. not everyone has a Twitter, but everyone has a web browser. iDB is a huge site… whats one more page?

      • How about past favourites! Tweaks that at one time or another, you couldn’t live without! 🙂

      • GuyBey0ndC00L

Maybe add top 5 or 10 question of the week. Keep it on top of the site above all articles always. With clear detail about how to leave the questions for you. Some question might get repeated. Maybe have one “Special Video Podcast” showing the combine usefulness of the tweak and apps you and the listeners have intsalled.

  • Great podcast guys- Sorry about the break-in! To steal a baby seat… thats low. BTW- Livepapers has lots of settings for the speed of the animations and for me (4S, ios 6.1.2), I don’t notice any lag at all. Also they recently put out a Earth version that is awesome. Keep up the good work.

  • Joonyaboy

    Dude, call your wife!

  • OMG JEFF IS SLOW…LOL Dude drink some coffee…llol

    • and he is sooo contrary and argumentative..lol

      • Jeff

no…no I’m not! I’m not argumentative. You’re wrong. Just plain wrong.

      • iospixel

      • lol… okay well.. i thought i heard that .. i will give you another chance but please sound more upbeat and lively

      • We all have our days. Usually I’m the one complaining and being negative. We switched roles this time around 🙂

  • Sentry

I love that chair. The ‘half standing’ seems like it would real helps the back as well.

  • Hi Jeff, Glad you’re back. Any chance you two can talk about older phones on iOS6? Since we can still download 6.1.2 somewhere I am sure. I know a few people reluctant to use iOS6 on their iphone 4. Often, people discuss whether it’s worth upgrading only when the first big jump comes out, from 4 to 5 or from 5 to 6. If you do, I’ll see if I can get my friend to return Sebastien’s car seats.

    thanks for the podcasts.

  • You guys should invite jailbreak developers on the podcast. The bitsms guys would be great.

Plus you should talk about xCon tweek. It fools apple store app to appear as if your phone is non jailbreak broken.

    • That’s part of the master plan indeed

    • iospixel

Xcon is so useful for media apps linked to TV subscription services. SkyTV, Virgin etc always perform these checks on my devices. Without XCon, to enjoy my TV/Recordings away from home I would have to loose my jailbreak!

    • but jeff does not endorse tweaks that circumvent corporations rules or allow consumers to get the advantage…

  • I’ve never been one to listen to podcasts, but considering how much I love this website, and how dedicated I am to Apple, I think I’m willing to make the time to listen to you guys. Excellent job, I love it! Glad to see Jeff is back, his videos on YouTube are what drew me to iDB in the first place, and I love Sebastien’s accent, very class. Oh, and I’m very sorry to hear about those fools trying to break into your wife’s car, Sebastien. Stupid people now-a-days, seriously.

    • Thanks Joseph. I was very nervous about being on the podcast because I was worried people would dislike my accent. Apparently it’s quite the opposite. That’s a very nice surprise 🙂

      • your voice is cool and lively you have good inflection which helps make your subject sound interesting

  • LP918

Also something new, just got an update for the BatteryDoctorPro tweak, it has completely replaced SBSettings for me. There is now an option to free up ram right from the menu! 🙂 Sorry if this is completely irrelevant.

  • 笑傲江湖

  • Please: Skip this podcast and do more tweak videos Jeff

  • Me and my wife LOL’d at this

  • There’s one thing I wanted to mention regarding buying a new iOS device (i.e. an iPhone)and being worried about which iOS it’s running. My friend bought an iPhone 5, 64 gb model (yesterday, 4/2/13) and it was running iOS 6.0.2. I hope that helps and reiterates what Sebastien said in the podcast.

  • Bruno

Like the podcast do far, and, as other users I found Jeff voice very low, so I have to put the volume high and then Sebastian seems to be yelling!. Jeff, about the Mobile substrate, I tried to install it and it says that it’s already installed. Is it comes with another tweack in the background that I didn’t notice?. I have, f.lux, killbackground, Ncsettings, SafariDownloadEnabler and UserAgentFake.

  • deepdvd

Did Xpandr 2 just increase in price? Jeff mentioned it costs 1.99 in the podcast, but when I just checked, it showed 2.99. Makes me wonder if he increased the cost when it got some publicity on here.

    • I’m not sure. Since I already owned Xpandr, this update was free so I can’t tell.

      • deepdvd

I personally find it rather annoying that you can’t see the price of a paid package on Cydia if you have already purchased it.
