Preview: ayra

Looking for a beautiful way to access toggles directly from the Lock screen on iOS 6? What about an improved "slide to unlock" design? All of that, and more, is possible with an upcoming jailbreak tweak by the name of ayra.

Designed by Surenix (ayecon), and developed by bensge (Velox), ayra is a tweak that's high on design and features solid functionality. I won't spoil all of the features just yet, as I've saved that for the full review. But, in order to wet your appetite, I've put together a brief preview video which lends a peak at some of the things you can expect to see when the tweak releases later this week.

‘VeloxTube for Velox’ adds an enhanced folder to the YouTube app

Velox is perhaps one of the most disappointing "big" tweaks to touchdown in some time. It's a tweak that possessed tons of potential, but sadly, none of it is being tapped in the way most envisioned. In fact, we're left with tweaks like VeloxTube for Velox instead.

That's not necessarily a knock against VeloxTube for Velox — a jailbreak tweak that brings an enhanced folder to the official YouTube App — it's just that I expected more. Take a look at my video overview of VeloxTube for Velox after the jump, and see what I mean.

‘LiveWire Pro’ brings new unlock animations to iOS

It's been a while since we've seen a new jailbreak tweak that brings new unlock animations to iOS, but LiveWire Pro is trying to reinvigorate the once popular trend. Not to be confused with the peer-to-peer music sharing service, LimeWire, this is a tweak that brings 7 new unlock animations to iOS. Have a look at our video walkthrough inside for more details on what makes LiveWire Pro tick.

How to add a screen fade animation when sleeping or waking your device

ScreenFade is a jailbreak tweak that's currently available on the Hashbang Productions beta repo. It's a tweak that adds a fade in and out animation to iOS when putting the device to sleep or waking the device.

On a stock iOS device, you're met with an abrupt on or off when waking or putting the device to sleep; there's no transitional animation to speak of. ScreenFade makes the experience of waking or sleeping your device seem less abrupt. Take a look at our video walkthrough inside to see what I mean.

Vine adds protected posts, revamped camera, channels, revining and more

If you care about sending quick clips up to six seconds long via Twitter-owned Vine for iPhone, you should pause for a second and take a look at today's Vine update which brings a few major enhancements. Most notably, Vine 1.3 enhances your privacy by introducing protected posts.

Protecting a post will make it unavailable to the web at large so only the people you approve to follow you can see them (you can also protect your entire account.

This release also brings out a redesigned camera, new channels and trending posts, the ability to re-share someone's vine (finally!) and other perks. Go past the fold for the full breakdown...

Following a long period of initial hesitance, major US television networks and content providers have finally relented and are now falling over each other to release software that lets Apple device owners stream television shows, with or without cable subscription. The latest entrant: NBC Universal-owned USA Network, commonly referred to as USA.

Developer Firemonkeys and publisher Electronic Arts thus far issued two major content updates to Real Racing 3, enriching the experience by adding hundreds of new events along with an assortment of new vehicles.

Today, the dynamic duo released a third tentatively named 'Prestige' update along the same lines. If you're a fan of high-speed racing games, the Prestige update should make you happy.

The content pack features some high speed cars from Mercedes-Benz and Bentley, more than 180 new events, twilight racing and the highly requested Time Trial mode. I've included more information and a video after the break...

New ‘Motion Tennis’ game teams up with your Apple TV for Wii-like action

I've long thought that between the motion sensors built into the iPhone and iPod touch, and the AirPlay-compatible Apple TV, Tim Cook and company had a Wii-like gaming console on their hands. They just obviously, for whatever reason, haven't realized the potential yet.

But the folks over at Rolocule seem to get it. The India-based app-maker just released a new game called Motion Tennis that utilizes the gyroscope and other sensors stashed inside the iPhone, as well as the Apple TV's AirPlay feature, to offer Wii-like motion gameplay...

Actiwidget: add Activator action shortcuts to Notification Center

The tweak, which uses Activator's preferences for configuration, adds yet another way to execute your favorite actions. Take a look at our video demonstration inside to see how it all works.

How to view a map via the Spotlight search page

Mappr is a recently released jailbreak tweak that replaces the traditional Spotlight search with that of a map. The map can be configured in the Settings app to track your location or to change the map type.

Although the idea of Mappr sounds interesting, its execution leaves a bit to be desired. Check out our video walkthrough to see what I mean.
