The Apple TV Gets a Silent Update

Today, Apple released iOS 4.4 for the Apple TV 2G. Apple did not release an official iOS 5 update for Apple TV users as expected.

As noted by the folks over at Electronista, Apple did however release iOS 4.4 for the Apple TV. This update adds iOS 5 features, but is still called iOS 4. This update adds AirPlay mirroring, Photo Stream, and Movie Trailers. Apple also added some third party apps, such as an NHL app and a WSJ app for video consumption. 

iWork for iOS Updated With iCloud Support

If you're just tuning in to iDB today, Apple is in the middle of seeding several major software updates and releases. The Cupertino company just released iOS 5, and now they've pushed out updates for the iWork software suite.

Along with the new mobile software, iCloud has started rolling out to the masses. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote have all been updated to support Apple's new sync and storage service...

iCloud.com Updated, No Longer Marked “Beta”

Apple is in the middle of one of its busiest weeks in recent memory. It's releasing multiple major software updates, including iOS 5, and it's launching a major sync and storage service. Oh, and it has to deliver a million iPhone 4S orders by Friday.

Apple kickstarted the festivities yesterday afternoon by rolling out iTunes 10.5. Now the company has moved on to iCloud, giving the service's website a noticeable update. Along with a new login screen (above), iCloud.com also lost its 'beta' status... 

Let the Rollouts Begin, Apple Releases iTunes 10.5

This is perhaps Apple's biggest week in its history when it comes to software releases. The Cupertino company is expected to rollout iCloud, iOS 5, and several software updates to make sure everything stays compatible.

RedSn0w Updated to Improve iOS 5 GM Jailbreak Compatibility

Not even a day after updating RedSn0w, the Dev Team has pushed yet another update to the jailbreak tool, with the release of RedSn0w 0.9.9 beta 3. This update brings better compatibility with the iOS 5 GM.

Jailbreak iOS 5 GM on Windows with Sn0wBreeze

Hacker iH8sn0w has updated his popular jailbreak tool for Windows called Sn0wbreeze. Sn0wbreeze 2.8b8 has been updated to jailbreak the iOS 5 Gold Master that was released after today's keynote.

Dev Team Quietly Updates RedSn0w

Earlier today, the Dev Team quietly updated the jailbreak tool RedSn0w to version 0.9.9b2. This update doesn't bring much to the table but the usual bug fixes and enhancements.

Among those enhancements, RedSn0w 0.9.9b2 brings better firmware detection for the Verizon iPhone, and improves on recovery, stitching, and blob processing...

SBSettings Gets Updated with iOS 5 Support

There's a handful of tweaks and utilities that are simply a must-have for jailbreakers. Obviously, this list can vary from person to person, but I don't think that anyone would argue that apps like Activator belong in the Cydia Hall of Fame.

Another title that belongs in that category, maybe most of all, is SBSettings. The utility makes accessing system settings and functions a breeze. SBSettings was just updated, and all of you early adopters will be happy to hear that it's now iOS 5 compatible...

Google+ for iOS Updated with Hangouts and Other Improvements

Well, that didn't take long. Just three days after we reported that the Google+ app was going to be getting an update, the new software dropped. And just as we expected, the update brings Hangout support as well as a host of other enhancements.

MyWi Updated With Support for iOS 5

Jailbreak developers are beginning to update their tweaks and apps with iOS 5 compatibility. We told you about BiteSMS getting updated for iOS 5 yesterday, and now another staple jailbreak app has been updated for Apple's highly anticipated mobile software.

Popular tethering app MyWi has been updated by Intelliborn to version 5.0. With iOS 5 compatibility, this new version of MyWi also features some improvements and bug fixes...
