Well, it's Friday afternoon and the folks at FireCore have just given jailbroken second generation Apple TV owners something else to be excited about as the weekend approaches: an update for the popular software suite: aTV Flash (black).

Infiniboard updated with Iconoclasm and OverBoard support

In what seems like the first bit of news from the jailbreak scene in quite a while, Chpwn announced today that an update for his popular Infiniboard tweak is now available in Cydia.

The utility, which allows you to add an unlimited amount of icons to each springboard page, now works with Sakurina's Iconoclasm and Ryan Petrich's OverBoard tweak...

eBay app updated with more streamlined listing process and more

Popular auction site eBay updated its iOS client last night, bringing the app to version 2.7. The renewed app features several changes and enhancements, including an improved photo flow with new editing tools, and speedier checkouts.

IMDb iPad app updated with new features and look

Great news movie buffs. Popular online film database IMDb has just released a major update to its iPad app, bringing some new features and an all-new design to the tablet software.

You can still use the app to research your favorite actors, watch movie trailers, or look up your favorite TV and film trivia, but version 3.0 lets you do it all in style...

Popular Rockmelt social browser now available for the iPhone

Rockmelt social browser has been available on the iPad for nearly two months now and today the team refreshed the app, adding the all-new iPhone and iPod touch experience. Rockmelt version 2.1 is available now as a universal binary supporting all form factor iOS devices natively. On the iPhone, the program boasts a design “optimized for the thumb alone" (they must have watched Apple's iPhone commercials) while offering the familiar feature set.

You'll still enjoy a Pinterest-like streaming interface with scrollable tiles and navigate your way around the app via gestures. As a bonus, the app keeps all your Rockmelt copies across different devices in sync, just like Google's Chrome browser does...

Tumblr app finally updated with iPad support

Good news today for all of you Tumblr users. The popular microblogging platform has finally updated its iOS app to work natively on the iPad. Previously, if you wanted to access your Tumblr blog, or view the work of others, from your tablet, you either had to use the website, a third-party application, or the official iOS app in 2X mode. But not anymore...

Flickr for iPhone gains better sharing features

Yahoo really seized an opportunity by giving its Flickr iOS app a much-needed love in last week's major version 2.0 update, didn't it? I mean, the app couldn't have arrived at a better time just as Facebook has suffered a major PR blow due to the public outcry concerning Instagram's new terms of service. Seven days later, Yahoo brings us a new Flickr update. Based on customer feedback, Flickr version 2.01.772 is now available for download, sporting several interesting new features missing in the previous release...

iH8sn0w’s f0recast tool updated with new features

News on the jailbreaking front has been pretty slow as of late. With no release date in sight for a jailbreak compatible with Apple's latest devices and software, it seems like the rest of the community has sort of quieted down.

Apple fixes iPad mini, iPhone 5 Wi-Fi bug with iOS 6.0.2 software update

Apple has just released an incremental iOS 6.0.2 update fixing issues with wireless network connections on the iPad mini and iPhone 5. According to Apple, the software “fixes a bug that could impact Wi-Fi”. Previous reports have suggested that these devices suffer from a carrier-agnostic Wi-Fi issue that could result in unwarranted cellular data usage while on a Wi-Fi network. Unfortunately, Apple does not name the exact Wi-Fi bug that has been fixed with this update...

Facebook rolling out Nearby update to its mobile apps

Facebook has announced this morning that it will be rolling out an update to its iOS and Android apps later today that will substantially beef up the Nearby feature. The refreshed feature will allow users to discover new places around them and view Yelp-like ratings and reviews from their friends... 

Dropbox 2.0 brings a revamped UI and new photo features

We've seen a number of significant app updates over the past few days. There's Flickr, which received new photo filters, 1Password, which got a total makeover. And this morning, Google+ received a nice little touch up.

Google+ holiday treats: better photo experience, conversation cards, more fluid UI

With over a hundred million active users, Google+ is, as Eric Schmidt put it, "a viable competitor to Facebook" and its nearly one billion users. This morning, the search firm is issuing new iOS and Android builds that enable a bunch of holiday treats. On the iOS side, you can now swipe through photo albums inline or tap once to see the photos full screen. New conversation cards are also available for highlighting specific content, from longer snippets to bigger photos to comments that slide in beneath each post...
