Apple releases iTunes 11.1.1 with bug fixes, stability improvements

Apple has released a Supplemental Update to OS X 10.8.5. The release fixes an issue with the FaceTime HD camera on late-model MacBook Airs, a bug that caused external drives to be ejected, and other problems.

Additionally, Apple has also seeded a new version of iTunes this afternoon, bringing the app to version 11.1.1. The update doesn't offer up any new features, but it does bring about bug fixes and stability improvements...

Snapchat 6.0 is out with new ‘Snapchat Stories’ feature

Snapchat has posted a new version of its iOS client today, bringing the app to version 6.0. The update only includes one new feature—but it's a major new feature, which the company is calling 'Snapchat Stories.'

The best way to describe the feature is that it's sort of similar to Facebook's News Feed. Story entries are essentially status updates that show your friends what you've been up to in the last 24 hours, using pictures...

Schools complain of iPad web filter issues after iOS 7 update

Apple's been making a big push into education in recent months, updating iTunes to allow users under the age of 13 and touting new features in iOS 7. It says the update makes it 'easier for institutions to put devices in the hands of students.'

Original Plants vs. Zombies updated with support for iOS 7, 4-inch displays

Dropbox for Mac update adds auto screenshot uploads, iPhoto integration

Dropbox has released an update for its Mac client this afternoon, bringing it to version 2.4. The update brings about a number of improvements for the app, including the ability to auto-import photos from iPhoto directly to Dropbox.

The release also brings about automatic screenshot uploading—a feature users have long been asking for. Dropbox will now upload any and all screenshots you take on your Mac (or Windows PC) to the cloud for immediate sharing...

Apple updates iBookstore for authors with larger in-book images and more

Apple sent out an email to authors and publishers last night, announcing that it has updated the iBookstore with a number of backend improvements including versioning support and increased pixels limits for book images.
