Survey Finds AT&T and T-Mobile Customer Satisfaction the Worst in the Industry

An interesting piece of non-informative information from the Associated Press quoting a survey (I can't seem to find an actual link to this survey) that found AT&T and T-Mobile at the bottom of ratings in customer satisfaction.

AT&T haters will rejoice whereas those like me who have always had great experience with AT&T customer service will be wondering how this is possible...

35% of iPhone Owners Launch an App Before Getting Out of Bed

A recent survey by Ericsson revealed that about 1/3 of Android and iPhone users launch at least one application before getting out of bed. Are you surprised? Probably not, especially if you're like me.

Tina and I have a rule: no iPad or TV in the bedroom. Although I've tried to implement the no iPhone rule in the room as well, it's been hard to enforce for 2 reasons: first, we need our iPhones as we use them as alarm clocks, and second, because we're freaking addicted to it...

The post claims that a criminal investigation is underway by a federal grand jury on certain mobile applications. These apps are suspected of violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act with their methods of collecting and transmitting user's personal data...

These companies do tons of research and conduct poles to analyze a company's performance.

iPhone Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among Other Smartphones

For the 5th time in a row, Apple is ranking #1 in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by JD Power. The iPhone scored 795 out of 1,000 points, which is slightly lower than the 800 points it had scored in the same survey a few months ago.

Closely followed by Motorola (763) and HTC (762), the iPhone performs particularly well in ease of operation, operating system, features and physical design. This score is obviously not a surprise to anyone who owns an iPhone...

J.D. Power Names Verizon Top Carrier in the Nation for Call Quality

Love 'em or hate 'em, if there's one thing Verizon has going for them, it's coverage. The network that brags that it is the "nation's largest and most reliable", once again proves it has the test scores to back it up. J.D. Power has just released its latest study on customer satisfaction among the nation's top 4 carriers, and the results shouldn't surprise you.

The study addressed such things as frequency of dropped calls, voice distortion, static, and delays in messaging. In testing done between July and December of last year, Verizon had the best or tied for the best satisfaction ratings in five of the six studied areas. AT&T and Sprint went back and forth in the second place spot , while T-Mobile received the worst scores out of the four...

Infographic Confirms That iPhone Users Prefer Regular Apps Over Web Apps

Well, that's a big shocker. Apparently iPhone users care more about native apps than web apps.

The guys over at Appsfire, a cool app discovery service, made an infographic report demonstrating how most users like regular apps over web apps. Appsfire analyzed 1,000 of its user's devices to determine some insight into the web v.s. native app debate.

Web applications are becoming more and more advanced everyday, but they still can't replicate certain functionalities of native iOS apps. The infographic from Appsfire is pretty self-explanatory. Let's check it out...

The iPhone Becomes the #1 and Most Desired Smartphone in the US

We already knew that iPhone users are the most loyal to their dear smartphone of choice. Now we know the iPhone is the #1 smartphone in the US as it just passed RIM by a slim 0.5%. Android, is a not-too-distant third.

This survey by Nielsen also confirms that the iPhone is the "most desired" smartphone among people likely to upgrade to a new device. An interesting fact is that women planning to get a smartphone are more likely to get an iPhone, while males are more likely to choose Android...

Researchers Use iPhone to Measure Happiness

Track Your Happiness.org is a recent project from a group of Harvard scientific researchers. The project's goal is to, "investigate what makes life worth living." Specifically, to see how the wandering mind and happiness correlate.

But how could this type of a survey really be effective when you would need the ability to invade the mind of your participant throughout the day for effective results?

Researchers were able to do something that traditional physiology methods have not allowed in the past: to intrude on the lives of their participants in a non-threatening and targeted way. What better means to prick the wandering mind than through what is the usual cause of a wandering mind- the smartphone.

This specific way of data collecting was made possible through (you guessed it) the iPhone...

People Don’t Care About the iPhone Antenna Issue. They Just Want a Verizon iPhone

It has been several weeks since we have heard about the iPhone 4 antenna issue and how it is affecting the selling power of the new device. With record sales reported it comes as no surprise that a recent survey shows potential buyers are more concerned about the absence of a Verizon branded iPhone.

Apple Insider dissected a Piper Jaffray poll that was comprised of 258 cellphone users in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It turns out that of those questioned, 3 times the population was more upset over not having the iPhone available on Verizon than those who hesitated on buying the device due to the antenna...
