This tweak lets you see whether Cydia packages work on your version of iOS

If you’ve ever looked at an older jailbreak tweak in Cydia and wondered whether it’d work on your version of iOS, then a new free release called tweakCompatible by iOS developer treAson might be of use to you.

This tweak lets you confirm whether a tweak works with your version of iOS before you install it on your device. In doing so, you can avoid potential conflicts that might cause problems with the stability of your jailbreak down the line.

Hid3x hides the semi-untethered jailbreak app when it isn’t needed

Semi-untethered jailbreaks like H3lix, Yalu102, Phœnix, and LiberIOS put an app icon on the Home screen so you can boot into a jailbroken state after your device restarts, but that’s really the only time you'll ever use these apps.

Whenever you’re in a jailbroken state already, these apps seem pointless to have on the Home screen. That said, a new free jailbreak tweak called Hid3x by iOS developer ipad_kid can hide these apps whenever you’re in a jailbroken state, as shown above.

NotificationsHeader CustomText, NotificationXI, and other jailbreak tweaks to check out this weekend

There’s been a lot of ramped up excitement regarding the jailbreak community recently, especially since Saurik broke the news that he’d be updating Cydia for iOS 11. That said, many people (developers and users alike) are merely waiting and watching to see what happens.

In this roundup, we’ll go over all the new jailbreak tweak releases from the past week. As usual, we’ll begin by outlining our favorites and get to the rest of them afterward.

NotificationXI brings iOS 11-style notification banners to jailbroken iOS 10 devices

Countless jailbreak tweaks can help make your iOS 10 device look and feel more like it’s running iOS 11, and now you can add a new free release called NotificationXI by iOS developer Squ1dd13 to that list.

From the screenshot examples above, you can discern how NotificationXI does away with the two-tone look of iOS 10's incoming notification banners. Instead, it carries over the headerless single-tone style you would expect to see in iOS 11.

Best USB-C battery packs that support Power Delivery

There was many a tear shed for the removal of MagSafe on the latest MacBooks and MacBook Pros. For good reason too! It was a great way to protect your Mac. The replacement, USB-C, has its own benefits too though.

The biggest being that it opens up the possibility for any other manufacturer to produce chargers for your MacBook. You can also pick up a battery pack to charge your laptop on the go. For anyone who travels, being able to use a large, hulking battery pack to power up your laptop is huge.

Need an affordable USB-C hub for your gear bag? Check out this one from Aukey

I love the new MacBook Pro, and while I've converted most of my gear to USB-C, there are still times when a hub is necessary. No more than when I am on the go and someone throws me a hard drive or camera to connect, and I'm left with no appropriate ports. Even worse, when I need to connect an HDMI cable. The Aukey USB-C hub is an affordable, simple tool to keep in your gear bag for these situations.

Specbreak circumvents jailbreak detection in the Spectrum TV app

If you try to load the Spectrum TV app on your jailbroken device, you won’t have much luck. Just like a handful of other apps from the App Store, Spectrum TV performs a jailbreak check before loading to see if your device has been tampered with in any way. If it comes back positive, then the app displays the screen you see above.

As bothersome as these jailbreak checks can be, talented developers almost always find ways around them, and a new free jailbreak tweak called Specbreak by iOS developer Tatsh happens to fall into that category.

This tweak lets you customize the Notification Center header text

Anyone still rocking a jailbroken iOS 10 device regardless of the possibility of an iOS 11 jailbreak in the not-too-distant future will be happy to know that some developers continue to make jailbreak tweaks for iOS 10.

One of the latest releases is NotificationsHeaderCustomText by iOS developer CydiaGeek, and as the name implies, this tweak lets you customize Notification Center's header text string, as shown above.

In this roundup, we’ll discuss all the new jailbreak tweaks we’ve shown you throughout the last work week. As usual, we’ll begin by talking about our favorites in detail, and then we’ll outline the rest of them afterward.
