EinsteinVibes brings haptic feedback to iOS’ Calculator app

There've been a lot of haptic feedback-based jailbreak tweaks released in my day, but EinsteinVibes by iOS developer LacertosusDeus is one of the first I’ve seen that brings haptic feedback to the stock Calculator app in iOS.

EinstienVibes harnesses the power of Apple’s Taptic Engine to provide Calculator app users with a subtle vibration each time they tap on any of the app’s buttons.

IntelligentPass intelligently disables your passcode in low-risk environments

Privacy and security are essential for most smartphone users, and that’s why Apple offers some of the best alphanumeric and biometric security measures in the industry. That aside, you don’t always need your smartphone to be secured like Fort Knox, and that’s where a new jailbreak tweak called IntelligentPass by iOS developer Luke Muris comes in handy.

Just as the name implies, IntelligentPass intelligently regulates your iPhone’s passcode (or another authentication method, such as Face ID or Touch ID) so that your handset only asks for it in specific user-configurable scenarios.

Customize your iPhone’s notification badges with BetterBadges

If you’re a particularly popular person, then you might be used to having a slew of red notification badges staring back at you from your Home Screen. But with a new free jailbreak tweak called BetterBadges by iOS developer Orangebananaspy, you can customize the look and feel of your notification badges in exciting new ways.

In the screenshot examples above, you can see some of the ways BetterBadges sets itself apart from the stock notification badge style. Not only does it provide you with colorization options, but it also includes different shapes and sizes to augment the aesthetic, especially if you happen to use a theme on your jailbroken handset.

SafariUnleashed PRO lets you utilize useful internal settings for Safari

Safari is the flagship web browser that comes pre-installed on every one of Apple’s devices, and as it would seem, iOS' flavor of Safari supports a bevy of useful internal features that aren’t accessible to the end user.

A new jailbreak tweak dubbed SafariUnleashed PRO by iOS developer Rishanan unlocks these features, enabling every jailbreaker to access web browsing features that augment the experience on Apple’s iOS devices.

Jitter animates app icons that have unread notifications

If you’re jailbroken with Electra and looking for quirky new ways to customize your newly-pwned device’s behavior, then you might take an interest in a new jailbreak tweak called Jitter by iOS developer SecondEight1.

Jitter uses an idiosyncratic approach to grab your attention whenever your app(s) sport unread notifications. More specifically, it animates the app icons that have unread notifications with one of seven customizable animations.

Jailbreak Tweaks to check out

All thanks to the Electra jailbreak, tweak developers can create add-ons and mods for improving iOS 11 and the software that it runs at every angle imaginable. We regularly cover many of the best releases right here at iDB.

This roundup will encompass all the jailbreak tweaks that have been launched in Cydia from August 6th until August 12th. As usual, we’ll begin by talking about our favorites, and then we’ll wrap things up with an outline of the rest afterward.

TapVideoConfig lets you adjust your iPhone’s recording quality from the Camera app

Depending on the type of iPhone or iPad you have, you might be able to change your Camera app’s video settings to support better picture quality or to conserve storage space when recording. But sadly, Apple makes the process more convoluted than it needs to be.

A new free jailbreak tweak called TapVideoConfig by iOS developer SpicaT simplifies the process by letting you change your iPhone’s video recording quality from directly within the stock Camera app itself.

Pascal provides a new volume HUD experience in iOS 11

By now, the entire world is screaming about how atrocious iOS' volume HUD looks. It pops up right in the center of your display, interrupting your workflow for several seconds before slowly fading away.

Innumerable jailbreak tweaks have addressed this situation in the past, but one of the sexiest examples to launch in Cydia as of late is Pascal by iOS developer Antique.

This tweak puts a free RAM indicator in the iPhone X’s Status Bar

The iPhone X’s notch compelled Apple’s to redesign the handset’s Status Bar to make the best use possible of the free space available. The result doesn’t look that bad, but software tinkerers in the jailbreak community always find ways to improve trivial things of this nature.

A prime example is a new free jailbreak tweak called FreeRAMUnderTimeX by iOS developer i4M1k0SU. Just as the name suggests, this tweak displays the amount of free RAM you have right under the time indicator in the iPhone X’s Status Bar.

Customize the Camera app in iOS 11 with Shutter

Photography is a common interest among iPhone owners, and that’s why Apple packs a capable hardware and software package inside of every handset. Nevertheless, iOS’ stock Camera app could still do with some improvements.

Enter a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed Shutter by iOS developer Jbrownllama. This tweak provides an extensive list of options that let the user customize their Camera app to their liking.

Want circular music controls for your jailbroken iOS 11 device? Try SpinXI

Whenever you play music on your iPhone or iPad, iOS automatically displays the Now Playing music controls on your Lock screen and in other parts of the operating system such that they’re always in reach.

SpinXI is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer s1ris that transforms the look and feel of said music controls, causing them to adopt a circular appearance, as shown above.
