Apple's free app for controlling Apple TVs from anywhere in your home via your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch was just updated on App Store following a barrage of software updates that the company released for iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS earlier this morning. Bumped to version 1.1, the official Apple TV Remote app finally supports iPad natively and now lets you see music lyrics, browse playlists, navigate chapters and more.

tvOS 10.2 for Apple TV now available with accelerated scrolling & other enhancements
Your fourth-generation Apple TV just got a tad easier to use with a second major update to the set-top box's operating system now available following tvOS 10's debut last fall. The tvOS 10.2 software update (build 14W265) is now available on fourth-generation Apple TVs as a free over-an-air download in Settings → System → Software Updates.
watchOS 3.2 with Theater Mode, Siri in apps & more now available for Apple Watch
Shortly following the public release of iOS 10.3 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch today, Apple also released watchOS 3.2 (build 14V249) for Apple Watch with Theater Mode and Siri in apps. The software update can be deployed via the companion Watch app on your paired iPhone with iOS 10.3 via My Watch → General → Software Update.
Apple releases iOS 10.3 with Find My AirPods and other new features
Apple today released for public consumption the third major software update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 10.3 is now available via the Software Update mechanism in Settings and desktop iTunes more than six months since iOS 10 made its debut in September 2016 and more than two months following the current iOS 10.2.1 update.
iOS 10.3 (build 14E277) brings about a number of new features and improvements.
Samsung confirms it will recycle Note 7, sell it refurbished
Samsung today confirmed plans to salvage components from its discontinued Galaxy Note 7 smartphone and reuse some of the parts in the refurbished Note 7 devices “where applicable.”
Prior reports claimed modified versions of the troublesome Galaxy Note 7 would be sold in emerging markets, including India and Vietnam.
FT: Apple stepping up efforts in augmented reality eyewear
The Financial Times ran a paywall'd story Monday, in which it reported that Apple is “stepping up” its augmented reality efforts across the company, especially in augmented reality eyewear, with the ultimate goal of releasing a consumer-facing accessory. Augmented reality is now reportedly the most important development project within Apple, after iPhone.
The report notes that both Apple with its yet-to-be-announced product and Facebook with its tethered Oculus headset are gearing up to challenge the secretive Florida-based startup Magic Leap and Microsoft, which more than two years ago debuted its praised augmented reality accessory, called HoloLens.
Volume production of Apple-designed A11 chips for iPhone 8 kicking off in April
Apple's favorite chip foundry, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), is about to kick off volume production of a new Apple-designed A11 chip widely expected to serve as the engine for new iOS devices this year, including an all-new iPhone 8 with an OLED display and the iterative iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus with LCD screens.
T-Mobile’s JUMP! upgrade program now includes free AppleCare+ services
T-Mobile said today that its JUMP! upgrade program and Premium Device Protection now include free AppleCare+ for iPhone and iPad because “the best devices in the world deserve the best protection and care.”
Both T-Mobile’s Premium Device Protection (formerly known as Premium Handset Protection) and the JUMP! upgrade program now come with AppleCare services for eligible customers who recently purchased a new device.

The signing window for iOS 10.2.1 could close any moment now, what with the upcoming release of iOS 10.3, so this is your last chance to save your blobs for iOS 10.2.1, or to downgrade to it from the iOS 10.3 betas.
iOS 10.2.1 is not currently jailbroken, so at the moment its blobs are not of use, nor is being on that firmware a guarantee of a jailbreak. However, you never know what'll happen, so act now! Don't be left out in the cold when signing ends.
69 new emoji coming this summer, including shush face, T-Rex, fortune cookie & more
The Unicode Consortium yesterday previewed an additional 69 new emoji characters coming this summer as part of Emoji 5.0. Some of the newly proposed faces, foods, creatures and other characters include the Tyrannosaurus Rex, a mermaid, fortune cookie, shush face and more.
All of these new emoji characters are technically still in draft mode, but Unicode is expected to release the final version this summer.
Revised version of iTunes 12.6 removes non-functional “Show on Profile Page” toggle
iTunes 12.6 was released alongside a slew of Apple product refreshes three days ago, bringing the ability to watch iTunes movies rented in the app on your other devices, and vice versa. Interestingly, the app shipped with a new Show on Profile Page toggle that a Reddit user discovered on the Playlist Edit page. Late yesterday, Apple issued a revised build of iTunes which, as first spotted by MacRumors, removes that option.
