LiveClock tweak updated with iOS 5 support

As most of you know, LiveClock has been around the jailbreak scene for quite some time. The tweak replaces the Clock app's icon with an animated version that reflects the current time.

But over the years, LiveClock has gotten lost in the couch cushions of Cydia. Ignored by its developer, the package had not seen an update since 2010. Until yesterday, that is...

‘ayecon’ adds insanely detailed icons to the iPad

ayecon — the high resolution WinterBoard theme from renowned designer, Surenix — is making its way to the iPad. Perhaps the worst kept secret in the theming community, ayecon for the iPad is very real, and it's coming soon to a jailbroken iPad near you.

If you're at all familiar with the small screen version of ayecon, then you will know just what to expect from the iPad version. Not much has changed here, but as you know, that's entirely a good thing. Full video preview inside...

Doctor up screenshots with PreviewMaker

If you're looking to create awesome screenshots of your iPhone, you have a few options. You can either fire up something like Photoshop, or you can use a tool like Screentaker, which allows you to encapsulate your screenshots in an iPhone, or iPad frame.

Screenshots mated with the device from which they were taken, portrays a much more professional look in my opinion, and you'd be hard pressed to find an easier way to do this, than with PreviewMaker...

ClockWind speeds up your iDevice’s animations

It's sort of like putting a huge loud muffler on your car. Whatever makes you feel faster.

Indeed, ClockWind makes things seem faster, because it speeds up the UIKit animations on the iPhone. It seems fast, but it also feels disconcerting, if you ask me.

Here's a hint: your iPhone isn't any "faster" than it was prior to installing this tweak...

BetterCenter allows you to adjust the length of Notification Center

BetterCenter is a simple new iPad jailbreak tweak, which allows you to adjust the length of the Notification Center pane, both in landscape mode, and in portrait mode.

Extending BetterCenter's slider bars to their maximum extent, results in a full length Notification Center on the iPad, and we love the look of it.

Take a look at our video walkthrough of BetterCenter in action...

Dashboard X 2.0 makes adding widgets to your Home screen even easier

The original Dashboard X was a fairly monumental tweak for jailbroken iOS devices, because it brought true widgets to the iPhone and iPad's Home screen.

Dashboard X 2.0, the follow up to the hit release, is aiming to build on all of the things the original Dashboard X did well, while fixing the things it didn't do so well.

This time around you can resize widgets using pinch gestures, and you can position widgets on both portrait and landscape orientations independently of one another.

Simply put, this is an awesome follow up to an already great jailbreak tweak. Check inside for the full video walkthrough...

NotiPad — the Growl inspired tweak for the iPad — has just appeared on Cydia's BigBoss repo for $1.00. The iPad exclusive tweak replaces the standard banner notifications in favor of Growl styled pop up notifications.

There are a variety of different options built in with NotiPad, including the ability to alter the animations, and switch the side of the iPad's screen that the notifications appear on.

Getting more out of Google Chrome

Now that Google Chrome has been out for a while on iOS, it's a good time to sit back and reevaluate its value. Should you ditch Safari for Chrome? Is Chrome good for jailbreakers? How do you get more out of Chrome?

Inside we'll take a look at various ways that you can make your Google Chrome experience more rewarding. Even if you're not a jailbreaker there are plenty of ways you can still benefit...

Banners Plus: another growl inspired notification tweak for the iPad

Yesterday we brought you a preview of NotiPad, an upcoming jailbreak tweak that enables Growl inspired notifications on the iPad. Although NotiPad looks promising, it wasn't without a few quirks in my testing, and it will also cost $1.00.

Another developer, undoubtedly inspired by what he saw, has created a new tweak that mimics many of the functions present in NotiPad, and he will be releasing his tweak for free. He's calling his tweak Banners+, and we've taken it for a spin on video...

How to add a traditional refresh button to Google Chrome

The way Google Chrome for iOS handles its refresh/stop functionality is a bit unorthodox. You have to first open a menu, and then tap the refresh or stop button to perform the action.

While it may seem like a small deal, I've found that this extra step is a bit frustrating in real world usage. Thankfully, as you may have guessed, the jailbreak community has responded with an answer.

EasyRefresh for Chrome is that answer — it's a jailbreak tweak that adds a traditional refresh button to Google Chrome for iOS...

How to download files with Google Chrome on iOS

Just a few minutes ago, a new tweak entitled Chrome Download Enabler appeared on Cydia. Excited about the prospect of finally being able to download files via the Google Chrome Browser on iOS, I quickly paid the somewhat steep $2.00 asking fare, and jumped in.

What did I find? Chrome Download Enabler works well, allowing you to download files that you ordinarily wouldn't be able to in Google Chrome. It's not pretty like Safari Download Manager, but as you'll see in the following video walkthrough, it does get the job done...
