Apple yesterday released the latest iOS 10.2 software update for public consumption. Being a second major update to iOS 10 following its debut in September of this year, iOS 10.2 brings out more than a dozen new features and enhancements for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

There's Apple's new channel guide app, named “TV”, 100+ new emoji, the Emergency SOS feature from the Apple Watch, options that let you preserve Camera settings, two new fullscreen effects for Messages, several improvements for the Music app and much more.

iOS 10.2 now available with many new iPhone and iPad features

Nearly two months since it began testing iOS 10.2 with its registered developers, Apple today released the software update for public consumption. To update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iOS 10.2, go to Settings → General → Software Update. iOS 10.2 has a build number “14C92” and is recommended for all users. Also released today: tvOS 10.1 for Apple TV with the new “TV” app and support for Single Sign-On, plus watchOS 3.1.1 for Apple Watch owners with 100+ new Unicode 9.0 emoji and the ability to change emoji skin tone.

iOS 10.2 brings out more than two-dozen new features, including new wallpapers, widgets and emoji, Apple's dedicated channel guide app, the Emergency SOS feature from the Apple Watch, the option to preserve camera settings, a pair of brand new screen effects for Messages and much more.

You can now report calendar spam on iCloud.com, support for iOS devices coming soon

A new kind of spamming technique relying on iCloud Calendar has caused and continues to cause a lot of pain as these unwanted invites hit users' email inboxes and trigger a notification. As noted on Reddit, the iCloud Calendar web app seems to have gained a new link for reporting spammy calendar invites and blocking their senders.

This feature will be rolling out to the stock Calendar app on iOS devices soon, an Apple representative allegedly told a disgruntled customer.

Nintendo drops a live-action commercial for Super Mario Run ahead of release

Nintendo is scheduled to debut Super Mario Run, its platformer optimized for one-handed gameplay, on the App Store on December 15. Ahead of this eagerly anticipated release, the Japanese gaming giant released a live-action commercial that's all about speed.

Running two minutes and five seconds long, the ad features people from all walks of life running across scenic locations and in front of landmarks across the globe. The video features an upbeat tune and classic Super Mario notes and sound effects.
