Verizon to Offer $20 Data Plan, Serves up 300MB per Month

In this day in age it seems like carriers are more focused on "streamlining" their wireless plans rather than introducing new ones. In fact, AT&T followed up its unlimited data plan-ban by getting rid of its $10 SMS package.

Verizon, on the other hand, has just introduced a new wireless plan to serve up data for low-end customers. The $20 per month plan will give users 300MB of data per month, and is available now through September 30. Read on for more details...

Stedicam Smoothee Helps Bring Out Your Inner Spielberg

I know it's not quite Full HD, but the iPhone 4 still captures decent video. In fact, as long as the lighting is decent and the subjects you're recording aren't frantically moving about, the device can churn out some pretty impressive footage.

However, without a tripod or a mount, there's a good chance that your videos will come out shaky. The iPhone doesn't come with an image stabilizer, so unless you have the steady hands of a trained sniper, you're out of luck. Enter the Stedicam Smoothee...

If you're a fan of Apple's decision to move to rounded toggle buttons in iOS 5, and prefer the new design over the square alternatives found in iOS 4, then you're experiencing the outcome of pure science, according to UX Movement.

What at first glace appears to be a minor aesthetic change actually has a scientific reasoning behind it, with rounded objects being easier to look at, and in turn, process...

No OLED Devices From Apple For Another “Three to Four Years”

Rumors of an Apple branded television just won't go away, with the latest claims being that Apple has partnered with LG in order to bring a 55" TV to market. This rumor has now been debunked, with LG's own CEO saying that Apple is not keen on jumping into the TV market, with OLED screens proving a stumbling block.

The Korea Times, amongst others, has also poured scorn on any suggestion that Apple may turn to OLED for its screens, claiming that the chances of such a switch are 'very low'...

Why Apple Could Release a 4G iPhone This Fall

One of the most popular debates regarding the iPhone 5 is whether or not it will be 4G compatible. The next generation of 4G network standards are catching on quickly here in the states, as the new technology is substantially faster than its 3G predecessor.

While several Android devices with the new technology have already been introduced, it's widely believed that Apple's next handset won't have 4G capability. Multiple obstacles have folks believing that we won't see a 4G product from Apple until next year. Is it still possible that Apple will unveil a 4G iPhone this Fall?

iPhone 5 Battery, Camera Lens, Audio Flex Cable Allegedly Leaked

As we get closer to the iPhone 5's release in September/October, expect part leaks to start flying off supply chains overseas. This report is no exception, with an overseas iPhone parts supplier called TVC Mall leaking several alleged components of the iPhone 5.

A total of 5 parts have been leaked, including the iPhone 5's battery, rear camera lens and headphone/earphone audio flex cable...

With Japan still recovering from the devastating earthquakes and subsequent tsunami of earlier this year, early warning systems are very much of use to those living in the country. According to 9to5 Mac, Apple is now doing its part to help the warn its users of impending earthquakes, by adding a new setting to the upcoming iOS 5, which is due to be released to the public some time next month...

FunnyCaller: Customize Caller ID for Incoming Calls

If you've had an iPhone (or any smartphone) over the last few years, chances are you've seen Caller ID spoofing. Basically, it's an app that will change your outbound Caller ID information when making a phone call.

But most of the apps for the iPhone are sketchy, and usually require money after the first few calls. Luckily, infamous jailbreak developer moeseth has created a similar tweak to help feed your inner prankster...

POPA Adds Retro Camera Feel to Your iPhone

We love taking photos with our iPhones here at iDB. Like just about everyone else, we're already addicted to photo-sharing apps like Instagram and Photovine.

Even though iOS 5 will bring the ability to take photos using the iPhone's volume up button, we're still of the age where we remember the good old polaroids with their huge shutter button, and we have to admit, we do miss it.

There's just something about a big mechanical button for setting free the magic that is a photograph, and that's where the makers of POPA agree with us...
