You know I'm not really fond of cases or skins, but I never miss an occasion to check a new one out, especially when it's made to order. The folks over at Carved sent me a couple custom iDB skins a while ago and today I'd like to show you what it looks like.

iOS 5.1 turns your iPhone 4S into an iPhone 4G

If you're not worried about your jailbreak, we're assuming you've already installed the iOS 5.1 update that was just released this afternoon. iOS 5.1 adds some great features like Siri support for Japanese users, a new camera app for iPad, and a new camera shortcut.

The new update also adds a 4G indicator to the AT&T version of the iPhone 4S. While it doesn't truly support 4G, AT&T can call the iPhone 4S a 4G device because it supports HSPA+ networks up to 16 megabits per second...

Many Android device manufacturers have opted to include near field communication (NFC) technology inside of their devices. NFC allows customers to transmit data between two devices. The biggest use for NFC is for mobile payments – which Google has been actively pursuing with its Google Wallet technology.

Apple has been granted a new patent for the 'iWallet' from the United States Trademark & Patent Office, as outlined by Patently Apple. The new patent allows for Apple to include NFC technology into the iPhone for mobile payments...

It looks like Apple is starting to grow weary of patent litigation. Hot on the heels of word that the company won a major victory in a Chicago court today, reports are coming in now that the iPhone makers are looking to settle some of its lawsuits involving Android partners.

According to Dow Jones Newswires, Apple has issued proposals to both Samsung and Motorola Mobility to settle several pending patent disputes in exchange for royalty payments to license its intellectual property...

The folks over at iLounge seem to be on a roll today. Earlier we told you about the site's report that Apple was working on some kind of "enhanced Smart Cover" for the iPad 3, and now it's claiming to know new details about the next iPhone.

China Mobile is the world's largest wireless carrier, by almost any measurement, with over 650 million mobile subscribers. Its sheer size has made the operator a prime target for Apple partnership rumors, but the two companies have yet to ink out a deal.
