First and foremost, the app brings out a beautifully revamped interface that's both super clean and useful, with snazzy animations that elevate the experience.

Google’s Snapseed photo editor goes 2.0 with major redesign, new filters and more

Google on Thursday pushed out an update for its mobile photo editor Snapseed, bringing the app to version 2.0. The new build is a significant one, as it brings about a number of changes including a brand new design, new features, additional filters and more.

Those fond of Snapseed's simple, gesture-based interface may not like the new design. Google's really moved things around here, so it's certainly going to take some getting used to. New features like spot repair and brush tool, however, are welcome additions.

Twitter folding Discover and Activity tabs on mobile into enhanced Search

Twitter giveth, Twitter taketh away. Twitter first said this morning that iPhone users can now upload and share their gorgeous 120FPS and 240FPS slow-motion videos through its mobile app and now we're receiving word that the startup will soon axe the Discover and Activity tabs from Twitter for iPhone and iPad.

The change, apparently a result of lack of interest, will be rolling out to mobile users over the next few days.

Twitter now supports iPhone’s slow motion videos

As of today, it's now possible to share slow-motion videos using Twitter's iPhone and iPad app, the micro-blogging service announced in a tweet. The feature has been enabled via a silent backend update so there's no need to update Twitter's iOS app.

The ability to upload and share slow-motion videos entails both footage captured in 120 frames per second on your iPhone 5s and higher frame-rate videos at 240 frames per second recorded on the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple quietly purchased Dryft keyboard app last year

Apple quietly purchased Dryft, a startup that develops keyboard apps, according to a new report from TechCrunch. The site says that the acquisition happened sometime last year, but the financial terms of the deal are still not known.

Dryft, who TechCrunch notes was a finalist in its 2013 Disrupt startup battlefield competition, gained notoriety for its custom mobile keyboard that would only appear when the user placed their fingers on their device's display.

Twitter gives Periscope verified badges, Follower Only mode, new Global section and more

Twitter on Wednesday issued a second update to its live-broadcasting app on iOS, Periscope for iPhone. The new build brings an additional three new features along with a few enhancements and bug fixes making your experience more pleasing than before.

In addition to easier blocking and major scrolling improvements, a new Follower Mode can be now turned on before starting a broadcast to limit comments to only viewers that you follow.

Apple releases iOS 8.3 with new Siri languages, diverse emojis and more

In addition to releasing OS X 10.10.3 to the public this morning, Apple has also rolled out iOS 8.3. The update, which developers and members of Apple's public beta program have been testing since February, includes a number of new features and improvements.

Among those new features is support for Wireless CarPlay, which allows folks with vehicles or head units that support the feature to use CarPlay without dealing with cables. There is also new, more diverse emojis, additional language support in Siri, Safari fixes and more.

Instagram announces new ‘Fade’ and ‘Color’ tools

Instagram on Tuesday announced that it would be adding two new options to the suite of tools in its photo editing app. Those tools are 'Fade' and 'Color,' and they will allow users to further tweak the appearance of their photos before sharing them on the social network.

More specifically, Color will bring about the ability to tint the highlights or shadows within photos with choices of yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan and green. Fade, on the other hand, will enable users to bring a quiet tone to their photos by softening colors.

Twitter rolling out revamped ‘Quote Tweet’ feature with comments

Twitter on Monday announced that it would be rolling out a revamped Retweet feature to all of its platforms. The new feature allows users to easily add comments to Retweets, and properly embeds them instead of inserting them between quotation marks. It also lets you quickly undo a Retweet, should you change your mind.

The new Retweet is being rolled out to iPhone apps and on the web, and will later make its way to Android. For those wanting to check it out on the web, simply hover over the Retweet icon, and a pop-up box (like the one above) will appear, giving you the option to either perform a standard Retweet or add a comment.

Pairing Apple Watch with your iPhone shows unique certificate of authenticity

Before you can start using your Apple Watch, the device must be connected to your iPhone through the Apple Watch companion app, which got recently added to iOS 8.2.

And when you first pair the wrist-worn gizmo to your iPhone, it shows a unique certificate of authenticity, depending on your model, size and case.

I was re-reading yesterday excellent article by Wired on Apple Watch development when this cool little feature caught my eye so I thought it deserved a post of its own.
