Barclays is out with a research note on Thursday indicating Apple's most profitable business is nowhere close to slowing down. Apple names Temple Run: Oz its new Free App of the Week

The exhilarating sequel to the classic endless runner with a Disney movie tie-in throw in for good measure, Temple Run: Oz is now available at no cost until next Thursday as part of Apple's ongoing Free App of the Week promotion.

Released precisely on this day a year ago, this marks the first time Temple Run: Oz has been marked down to zero bucks on the App Store (regularly $1.99).

The game is based on the 2013 film 'Oz the Great and Powerful' and features the same great gameplay as the original infinite runner, with an Oz twist to it.

5 new indie iPhone and iPad games worth playing

Like any Thursday, last evening the App Store was refreshed with a myriad of new game releases. Rather than highlight juicy games like Real Steel Champions, Warhammer: Snotling Fling and other new arrivals from big name publishers, this time around I've decided to do something entirely different.

Therefore: introducing a list of new game releases by independent publishers that I think deserve additional exposure and your attention.

Without further ado, here are five indie games that I think you should definitely check out and hopefully put on your Home screen.

Google updates Sheets, Slides and Docs for iOS with doc copying, accessibility improvements

Thursday, Google issued updates to its trio of cloud-powered productivity apps in the App Store: Sheets, Slides and Docs. Moreover, a new accessibility settings menu appears within Slides and Sheets when VoiceOver is enabled in Settings.

Imgur releases brand new iPhone client for browsing the fascinating world of animated GIFs

After releasing its inaugural iOS app back in 2013 only to remove it from the App Store less than a year later over numerous user complaints, Imgur on Thursday tried its luck again and released a brand new iPhone application.

Unlike the now-defunct app that offered a spartan web view of the mobile Imgur website, the newly released client does feature sleek appearance and native performance.

That it puts the millions of the web’s memes in the palm of your hand (and will soon make it easy to upload your own GIFs to the service) doesn't hurt it either.

Rumor: iPhone 6s has 2GB RAM and Apple SIM

Apple's upcoming S-refresh to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus apparently includes two gigabytes of random-access memory (RAM), a feature long expected by Apple fans who have been eyeing top-end Android handsets with 3GB of RAM with envy. More RAM = better multitasking = longer battery life.

Furthermore, the phone ship with the Apple SIM which debuted alongside the iPad Air 2, as reported by AppleInsider quoting “a person familiar with Apple's future product plans” who in the past has provided “reliable info.”

The download brings out car decals (the most requested feature) and five new Ferrari sports cars that Gameloft says you'll be able to drive “soon”. On top of that, the garage has been redesigned from the ground up and there are new car collections to enjoy now.

The update is available now on iOS and is coming soon on Android and Windows 8.

Apple confirms ‘FREAK Attack’ patch for iOS and OS X due next week

A new exploit dubbed ‘FREAK Attack’ — which stands for “Factoring attack on RSA-EXPORT Keys” — that takes advantage of a security flaw dating back to the 1990s will be patched soon by Apple.

As we speak, the iPhone maker is readying a fix in iOS and OS X that will be available in software updates next week, a spokesperson for the Cupertino firm told iMore.

Plagued by this security flaw, users of Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices are at risk when visiting vulnerable websites that downgrade a secure HTTPS connection to a weaker encryption method.

Facebook’s forgotten Slingshot app introduces Explore section

Following a major version 2.0 update last December and another one that added swiping between back and front cameras, things have been quiet on the Slingshot front.

But Wednesday, the Facebook-owned disappear messaging app has received another update bringing out a new Explore section in an effort to increase usage time.

Slingshot is available free in the App Store.
