PopAGraph goes free as Apple’s Free App of the Week – make your photos pop now!

Like every Thursday, today Apple gets to slash another app to $0 in its ongoing Free App of the Week promo. A week ago today it was Disney's Where’s My Mickey? puzzler and now the App Store editors have named PopAGraph this week's Free App of the Week.

Released in April of last year, this nicely done photo-editing app for the iPhone and iPad by Flambe Studios LLC wants to make your photos pop, by allowing you to mask objects and pop them out to give them an impression of depth.

Grab it free in the App Store until next Thursday...

Good deal: 65% off 6-piece iPhone photography lens kit

If you're an avid iPhone photographer and find that the handset's tiny lens just isn't cutting it anymore, there are a number of add-on lens kits to choose from. Olloclip makes several, Sony makes one, and there are countless options from lesser-known brands.

These kits usually only contain a couple of lenses, but a company called Bazaared is taking things a step further with its Ultimate iPhone Lens Kit. It includes 5 lenses, a tripod and carrying case, and it's being heavily discounted right now over at Stack Social...

Lightroom for iPad is coming, Adobe inadvertently leaks

An accidental (or was it?) posting on the Adobe website has revealed that the Photoshop maker is working on a mobile version of its Lightroom photo management software. Adobe released Lightroom 5 for Mac and Windows PCs last summer and has previously shown off an unnamed prototype iPad app at the Photoshop World show in Las Vegas. It looks like Lightroom for iPad will have feature parity with its desktop counterpart...

‘Moment’ lenses launch on Kickstarter, promise pro iPhone photography experience

Moment, a new clip-on camera lens attachment for the iPhone, iPad and other mobile devices, has launched on Kickstarter, with a pair of lenses selling for $50 a pop each. Much like Olloclip, the Moment's multi-element lens design promises to take your iPhone photography to the next level.

How?

By allowing for low-distortion imaging and minimal chromatic aberration, with easily swappable lenses coming in handy when you need to quickly switch from shooting a wide scene to capturing detailed closeups. And they certainly look beautiful...

Shoots & Leaves turns your photos into Reminders and instantly creates sharing links

With the impending demise of the popular cross-platform file-sharing app Bump, sharing your photographs with the web at large, without going through popular social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, could easily become something of a mess involving switching between multiple apps to get the job done.

Fortunately, Shoots & Leaves ($1.99 in the App Store) comes to the rescue.

As the name implies, this little gem of an app - though not a file-sharing solution per se - allows you to turn photos into tasks with a single tap and easily create URLs for your photos that can in turn be emailed, shared on the web and more, for everyone to see online.

It supports multiple image-hosting services, user-defined actions, sending to third-party apps and lots more. Have a quick look at it right after the break...

Waterlogue review: turn your photos into watercolor paintings

Whether you like it or not, filter and effect apps are the most popular (and prevalent) in the photography category in the App Store. Thanks to digital technology, any amateur photographer can make a silly “selfie” look like a magazine shoot.

You haven’t seen filter until you experience the artistic reimagining of your photos using Waterlogue. This is no mere effects app. It turns everything it touches into a watercolor painting…

Olloclip introduces new 3-in-1 photo lens for the iPhone 5c

Olloclip, the makers of the widely popular clip-on iPhone lens kits, has announced a new accessory just in time for the holidays. It's a 3-in-1 photo lens made specifically for Apple's just-released iPhone 5c handset.

The new kit features familiar attachments—a macro lens, a fisheye lens and a wide-angle lens—and comes in the 5 colors of the iPhone 5c. And, like its 5/5s counterpart, it's made of very high quality materials...

Fragment turns your photos into original artistry

Fragment is a new photo app that lets you create original photos by applying unique prismatic overlays. If the concept of the app looks familiar, it is because it has been created by Pixite, the developers of Tangent and LoryStripes, two applications we've nominated as some of the 10 best photo apps of 2013.

I've been trying this app for a few days, and despite the fact that overlays aren't really my cup of tea, I have found Fragment to be almost addictive to play with because there are so many possibilities. Maybe more importantly, I feel like Fragment is challenging my creativity by pushing me to take my photos further than just a quick edit in Snapseed or a simple filter in Instagram...

Camera+ 5.0 is out with iOS 7-style redesign, wallpaper composer, new tools and filters

If you're an iPhone photography fan and follow me here on iDownloadBlog, chances are you've by now figured out that Taptaptap's Camera+ is my go-to photography application for the iPhone and iPad.

After failing to jump on the initial iOS 7 app update bus, the team has finally pushed a major update for the iPhone and iPod touch edition that includes substantial iOS 7-makeover along with the flattened app icon and a bunch - and I really mean a bunch - of new tools and filters.

Jump past the fold for the full reveal...

Instagram Direct announced: limit photos and videos to select groups

iPhone photography fans, rejoice! Facebook-owned Instagram is holding its Share a Moment media event in Midtown Manhattan, New York City and co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom has just taken the wraps off Instagram Direct, a new feature designed to make it easy to limit specific photos and videos to select groups of friends.

The capability is available now through Instagram's just-updated free iPhone app. As for Instagram metrics, Systrom said Instagram grew from 80 million users at the beginning of 2013 to 150 million users worldwide, with half of Instagram’s users accessing the service on a daily basis...

Olloclip releases 3-in-1 iPhone Macro Lens

Olloclip just released a new 3-in-1 Macro Lens for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

While the lenses themselves are made of coated glass multi-element optics, the barrels are made of anodized aircraft grade aluminum. As with its other lens kits, these macro lenses connect to the iPhone thanks to soft plastic material that will ensure a secure fit while preventing any damage to your iPhone.

These lenses offer three magnifications in one, allowing you to take close-up shots. The three included lenses are 7x, 14x and 21x macros...

Diptic Video review: make video collages with just a few taps

I may have already mentioned this in the past, but I do take a lot of pictures with my iPhone. I also like taking video clips, especially of bands. I like to document my life as much as possible. Maybe I’m worried that I’ll forget it all someday.

Diptic Video is the follow-up release from Peak Systems, the creator of Diptic. With it, you can create photo and video collages with multiple clips that you can add a soundtrack to and share on your favorite social networking sites…
