iPhone 7’s much improved low-light photography comes into focus at U.S. Open

After sharing gorgeous action pics Sports Illustrated photographer snapped at yesterday’s Titans-Vikings NFL matchup with an iPhone 7 Plus, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted on Twitter a new batch of images that show off improved low-light capabilities of the new camera system on the iPhone 7/Plus. The shots were taken on an iPhone 7 Plus by ESPN photographer Landon Nordeman during the men's final between Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka on the last day of the US Open.

Professional photographer David Klutho took some stunning action photographs for the Sports Illustrated magazine at yesterday's Titans-Vikings NFL matchup. The images were taken with an iPhone 7 Plus and highlighted on Twitter by Apple CEO Tim Cook. The iPhone 7 Plus contains the same camera smarts as the 4.7-inch iPhone 7, except for the addition of a second lens with 2x optical zoom.

This coming Friday, iPhone 7 hits store shelves and pre-orders arrive in the mail. The week between a pre-order and receiving the device is one of the most exciting times of the year for Apple fans. Immediately following the announcement, Apple litters the retail website with information about the new devices, including images that help show off the new design. When this occurs, I receive submissions for wallpapers via @jim_gresham, where you can send images for consideration and inclusion in the Wallpapers of the Week category.

This year, as the design focuses on the camera, Apple included a gallery of images, snapped by the new iPhone 7. Inside, you fill find a collection of wallpapers from the iPhone 7 photo gallery. Shipping estimates for iPhone 7 pre-orders quickly slipping

It's just been half an hour since Apple's new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets went on sale, and shipping estimates for select models have already dropped dramatically. The average delivery window now seems to be 4-6 weeks out, with the AT&T iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black simply showing "November" for the expected shipping date for both storage configurations.

In previous years, the slight camera upgrade in the Plus model, never was a strong enough differentiator for me to upgrade the size of my iPhone. After all, 4.7 inch is the right size for me. Anything bigger and I'd need a man purse to carry it around.

Rumors leading up to the unveiling of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus made it sound like the dual camera module on the larger device was going to be a big deal.
