New concept video imagines assumed iPhone 7 Plus features based on the rumors

Apple's next smartphone refresh may or may not bring a major design overhaul to the iPhone that fans have been holding their breath for, but we still fully expect the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to be worthwhile upgrades in terms of both the looks and the features.

The rumor-mill does think, however, the device could have a cleaner look and feel due to the antenna lines being relocated to the very top and bottom.

The rear camera is said to protrude less from the housing and have a bevelled look and we might even get a pair of grilles at the bottom for stereo speakers. Taking it all in, Dutch 3D artist Jermaine Smit has imagined the iPhone 7 Plus in a concept video.

iOS 10 concept imagines a customizable Control Center with 3D Touch support, dark mode and more

How will Apple improve upon Control Center in the next major iteration of iOS? Sam Beckett has attempted to imagine tight 3D Touch integration for Control Center in iOS 10, and his concept video does a very fine job at that. It shows off some ideas that Apple could take advantage of in order to allow for greater customization of hardware toggles and app shortcuts in Control Center.

A user could press on toggles to enter the edit mode to rearrange the icons, turn off the toggles they use rarely, add new switches for things such as Low Power Mode and Cellular Data and so forth. In addition, Control Center could benefit from 3D Touch by allowing users to quickly access additional options from the contextual menu for a specific toggle.

A compilation of iPhone 7 concept renderings

We're still more than six months away from the official introduction of Apple's next iPhone, meaning substantial leaks probably won't appear until late summer. That's not stopping 3D artists from imagining the iPhone 7 and its features.

We are being tipped about iPhone 7 concepts almost on a daily basis, but most of the concepts we review are too outrageous or futuristic to showcase on iDB.

Some of them are, however, quite plausible, if not intriguing. My colleague Andrew has put together a nice video compilation of the top five iPhone 7 concept renderings that we think you might like.

Concept: dual-camera iPhone 7 Plus and pink iPhone 5se with iPhone 6-style design

The rumor-mill cannot agree whether a rumored 'iPhone 5se' is going to feature a refined iPhone 5s design or an iPhone 6-style look with smoothly rounded corners and curved screen edges.

Be that as it may, German magazine Curved.de has taken upon itself to envision what the iPhone 5se might look like should Apple streamline its handset lineup around the current iPhone 6/6s look and feel.

As a bonus, they've also done some intriguing renditions of what a next-generation 'iPhone 7' and a dual-camera 'iPhone 7 Plus' might look like, based on the rumors that have been floating around. Check out the images and tell us what you think in the comments.

Gorgeous concepts envision iPhone 6c and Apple TV 4 with iOS 9 and iPhone 6-like design

Ahead of Apple's big unveiling tomorrow, 3D artist Martin Hajek has posted a batch of sexy concept renderings which imagine Apple's rumored iPhone 6c and a next-generation Apple TV with iPhone 6 and Apple Watch design cues plus iOS 9-powered UI.

Contrary to the rumors, Apple won't be unveiling the iPhone 6c tomorrow after all though some tipsters claim the device is coming in time for Thanksgiving.

This concept video gives us a good idea why Force Touch iPhones will be a big deal

Force Touch parts for Apple's upcoming 'iPhone 6s' and 'iPhone 6s Plus' phones have recently begun shipping in volume.

We even recently got our glimpse into the implementation of a force sensing layer on a leaked iPhone 6s screen. That being said, some people continue to be puzzled as to what benefits, if any, Force Touch would bring to their iPhone experience.

Maximilian Kiener set out to create a nice mockup video which gives us a good idea how pressing an iPhone's screen firmly could be a valuable user interface shortcut.

This iPhone 6c concept looks plausible

We don't know yet whether or not Apple will introduce an ‘iPhone 6c’ when a next-gen model debuts this fall but if it does, it might resemble these curiously looking mockups posted by 3DFuture.net.

For what it's worth, the prospect of refreshing its plastic handset with a fingerprint sensor, a bigger Retina HD screen, an improved eight-megapixel iSight camera and a speedy processor is certainly tantalizing.

Check out the images after the jump and meet us in comments.

New ‘WatchSpring’ tweak brings a real working Apple Watch inspired UI replacement to the iPhone

It started as a concept, it grew to a mockup, and now it's somewhat of a reality. Earlier today, WatchSpring, a tweak that brings an Apple Watch inspired user interface to the iPhone, was released to the public.

WatchSpring, brought to life by developer Kigg, more or less completely replaces the stock SpringBoard in favor of the radical looking Apple Watch-like interface. This tweak allows you to actually use the interface to launch the apps installed on your phone, along with perusing the Home screen. It's a real working tweak, and we have a hands-on video demonstrating it inside.

This iPhone 6 concept may be the best yet

With the iPhone 6 expected to get one of its largest redesigns ever, designers have spent the last year creating concepts of what they believe the handset will look like. Some of them would probably be better suited for a science fiction novel, but others have looked fairly plausible.

This latest concept from well-known designer Martin Hajek may be one of the most realistic we've ever seen. Based on leaked parts, physical mockups and rumors from multiple tech outlets, Hajek has laid out his vision for the iPhone 6 right down to the circuits on the logic board...

New concept imagines iPhone 6 without ugly antenna lines

I'm sure most of you are as tired of iPhone 6 concepts as I am—between rumors of a redesign and the constant barrage of part leaks, designers have had more to work with than years past—but these new mockups from Thomas Moyano and Nicolas Aichino are worth noting.

The images depict Apple's handset with all of the rumored hardware changes, including the thinner profile, rounded edges and relocated Power button. But there's one major difference between this design and all of the others we've seen thus far: no ugly antenna break lines...

New iPhone 6 mockups based on leaked case dimensions and other intel

Well-known designer and concept artist Martin Hajek has teamed up with the folks over at Nowhereelse.fr to create what could be the most accurate iPhone 6 renderings to date. The mockups show a device that was created based on recent information, including MacFan's schematic drawing from last month, and this week's case leak.

For the most part, the renderings match up with everything we've seen thus far regarding Apple's next smartphone. Hajek depicts the iPhone 6 as extremely thin, with rounded corners, and a display that's noticeably larger than current models. It also features a new Sleep/Wake button, which has been moved to the right side of the handset...

New iPhone 6 renderings based on alleged leaked schematics

A little over a week ago, Japanese magazine MacFan published alleged schematics for a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone 6. We called the drawings 'sketchy,' as they depicted a round iSight flash (instead of pill-shaped) and other oddities, but many of the details matched up with previous information.

With that in mind, MacRumors commissioned designer Ferry Passchier to create some full product renderings of the two iPhone 6 models, based on the schematics, in an effort to bring the black and white sketches to life. And we must say, the outcome is one (or two) good-looking smartphone...
