Apple has named the popular app Fun Golf GPS 3D its App of the Week this week. This means that between now and next Thursday, you’ll be able to pick up the application for both your iPhone and iPad for free—a huge savings of $20.

For those unfamiliar with the software, it's essentially a digital caddie. It's capable of tracking your shots, showing you distance to pin, and recommending clubs. And it features 3D maps of nearly 32,000 golf courses from around the world...

Infinity Blade III goes on sale as ‘Blade Masters’ update arrives

Chair has just released a monstrous update for its popular Infinity Blade III game this morning. The so-called 'Blade Masters' update brings the app to version 1.3, and offers up a number of new features and characters, as well as other improvements.

Flexibits's Fantastical 2 for iOS has received a maintenance update this morning bringing several bug fixes, alongside a useful improvement to how the overlapping calendar events are handled.

Facebook launches new audio recognition feature

The social networking behemoth, Facebook, has launched a brand new feature today which can identify TV shows, movies and music playing in the background.

Resembling content-matching services like Shazam and Sound Hound, this new capability is a staggered release via an updated App Store app on iPhone and a Google Play app on Android, according to multiple reports and Facebook itself.

Apple updates WWDC app with 2014 conference schedule, confirms June 2 keynote

Apple's free WWDC app for iOS has been updated with relevant 2014 conference schedule and related content ahead of its upcoming developer-only event.

The 5-day Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off with a keynote on June 2 and will give us previews of iOS 8 code-named Okemo and OS X 10.10, code-named Syrah after a wine.

Version 2.0 of the WWDC app for the iPhone and iPad includes a brand new icon, a revamped design with an aesthetically pleasing orange theme and, more importantly, content support for the upcoming event. Amazon Cloud Drive Photos updated with new album view, photo sorting and more

Amazon updated its Cloud Drive Photos iOS client this afternoon, bringing the app to version 3.1. The update brings about a new album view, as well as a new sorting feature, upload status indicator and various other improvements.

The new album view will allow Cloud Drive users to quickly scroll through their albums with large cover photos. And the new sorting feature brings the ability for users to sort their photos by either oldest to newest, or newest to oldest...

Twitter to try the music thing again, this time by buying SoundCloud?

Twitter last month discontinued its poorly received Twitter #music app, but that doesn't mean the micro-blogging giant has given up on music.

According to a report Monday by Re/code, Twitter is considering a deal to buy Berlin-based SoundCloud, the increasingly popular service enthusiasts use to upload, record, promote and share their originally-created sounds.

With a rather cool iOS app available in the App Store and installed user base of over 250 million people (as of October 2013) who turn to SoundCloud to listen to music and audio for free, the service/app has a lot to offer but can it possibly make Twitter relevant in the music space?

Ahead of its public opening on May 21, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum has released an official iOS app. The 9/11 Museum Audio Guide app for the iPhone and iPad, available free in the App Store, honors the 2,983 people killed in 9/11 terrorist attacks on Twin Towers.

Basically an audio guide designed to aid tourists and museum attendees, the app includes three main tours to choose from such as Witnessing History and Discovering History and features 13 sections, each accompanied by description and narration...
