FLASHr: a flash notifications case for your iPhone

It seems like a gross oversight, on Apple's part, that there's no external indicator for notifications on the iPhone. This means that unless you happen to see a push notification come through, you have to unlock your handset to see if you have any missed calls or text messages.

Apple tried to remedy this issue with a new feature in iOS 5 called LED Flash for Alerts. It uses the iPhone's camera flash to alert users that they have new notifications, but for a number of reasons, this solution is far from perfect. Enter the new FLASHr case by Phaze5...

Now that it's been all but confirmed that Apple will be hosting a media event in September, the spotlight turns to the focus of the meeting. Obviously, a new iPhone is a given. But what else will Apple be unveiling that day?

More iPhone 5 cases surface that look just about right

CydiaBlog points us to a few purported cases for a sixth-generation iPhone, currently on sale over at TVC-Mall. These look just about right given the rumors calling for a taller iPhone with a two-tone design and a metal backplate that have been piling up recently. These cases also confirm leaked schematics and engineering samples which depict a FaceTime camera at the center and a smaller dock connector at the bottom.

It's been reported this morning that thousands of job seekers are currently lined up outside of Foxconn’s Chengdu, China plant, all vying for a number of summer job openings which could mean that Foxconn is ramping up hiring as it is getting ready to manufacture the iPhone 5, as the Japanese blog Macotakara suggested last week...

The rumor mill has been pretty active this week, coughing up more information regarding Apple's next smartphone. In the last few days, we've seen not one, but two sets of pictures of purported engineering samples for the unreleased handset.

With that, it seems like the evidence is really piling up in favor of the taller, two-tone iPhone design that first surfaced back in May. And apparently that's enough for accessory-makers, who are already churning out large batches of next-gen iPhone cases...

Free wireless internet provider FreedomPop to go LTE

Back in May of this year, we told you about FreedomPop. The up-and-coming wireless broadband provider plans to disrupt the traditional carrier model with a combination of free 4G service, and iPhone products.
